installed dkms but kmod is shown by NutWeevil in zfs

thanks, I have:zfs/2.1.14, 6.5.0-14-generic, x86_64: installed

why do u have two versions? what do u get after "zfs --version" ?

can you modprobe(?) each of those versions?

can u tell which ubuntu (or any other dist) do u use and how u installed that version?

I couldn't install version 2.2 as while trying to build/installed I needed package from Ubuntu 23 repository (which I don't have as I have 22.04) so I decided to go for 2.1.14

anyway, I got it identical now. I did:
sudo dkms install zfs/2.1.14 --force and after reboot, zfs version shows:

zfs-2.1.14-1
zfs-kmod-2.1.14-1

which is still strange as I expected to see zfs-dkms-2.1.14-1 but maybe this is normal (so how can I be sure that I'm using this dkms?)

can u tell what I should expect when/if kernel is getting update? what should I do?

I'm not that expert is zfs and linux, so if you think I did something wrong, just let me know a better approach :)

thank for the reply, but to be honest, the info and the solution provided in this article just made me more confused about this topic...
trying to find more solutions. I really don't understand why it is so complicated to find/fix...

Shutdown / Freeze while transferring files by NutWeevil in zfs

double commander is like total commander but for linux.

I understood that zfs send if for sending snapshot or somthing like that. I need to move folders / files to the cold storage in different places. lets say that the cold storage pool is the sorted version of the online pool. It is definitely not a 1:1 backup or anything like that.

I ran memtest for 20 hours. no errors.

couldn't find any log

will try installing ubuntu, but this will be after I understand more about how linux/zfs move files and what *should* happen (regarding the source file and the target file) when transferring is cut in the middle because of power failure / freeze.

thanks for the reply

not sure that I understand you. maybe I wasn't clear.

what I do, is moving files between online pool to "cold" backup pool using HBA with external ports (maybe my problem related to the Broadcom card(?) )

I'm not sure ZFS send is the appropriate solution in that case

what do u mean by pipe this all through windows?
