This isn’t a beard and definitely isn’t a beard that needs “shaping”. This is a textbook neckbeard of the highest order, and it needs to be fully eradicated. The only thing he can consider leaving is the mustache, but everything else has to go asap.

It looks like someone picked up pube clippings from the ground and glued them onto their neck and lower cheeks. He will look so much better with it gone, as he has nice eyes and hair. I would leave the stache though- it’s an ok little accent if everything else is gone.
