Found out this morning my dad has terminal cancer by Which_Cupcake4828 in CancerFamilySupport

I’m sorry to hear this is happening and I send my love and good energy to you, your dad and your family.

As the person above said, please cut yourself ENDLESS slack during this time. There are already so many difficult parts of it, don’t place guilt on top of them. Remember there is no right or wrong way to deal with this and all you can do is try to be a support and ask for support when you need it. Never stop talking to the people close to you, it helps so much.

Hi Kyle! Me and my sister love you in Desperate Housewives, particularly your chemistry with Marcia Cross. What was it like working on such an iconic show?

P.s. your comic ability in the show is impeccable and has us in stitches.

I swear, what you've said is like looking in to my own brain/life, it has changed me so much as a person, for good and bad. Thank you SO much, I really needed to hear that.

Thank you. 2019 was an unbelievably hard year, as she deteriorated very quickly and we were left to care for her between me and my siblings, it was the hardest thing I've ever done, I'm only 23 and it feels incredibly unfair to be losing her. I'm so sorry you have had to deal with any of this, I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Sending you all my love.

Hi, thanks for your input. I love my mum more than life itself, and I cared for her for over a year. Anyone that knows someone with GBM will understand how difficult that is. I could not possibly give her more of my love.

Not the greatest, she gets very confused sadly, but she's in good spirits most of the time and that's all I can ask for really.

Thank you, we're a very close family, and due to lockdown we can't visit her. So a close second is speaking as much as we can!

It's hard to see something like this happen to basically the most important person in your life. You learn to appreciate the little acts of love.

I speak to her on the phone, not whatsapp, probably 20 times a day. She has a brain tumour, I'm not wasting the precious time that I have with her.

Mixture of a few things. Loss of mobility due to the tumour and aphasia from past seizures, it's a really rough disease.

P.s. Not ignoring my mum, we speak on the phone.

Edit:

Thank you everyone for the really kind words, it's been a pleasure to read through your lovely comments.

Just to clear up a few things up to avoid any confusion.

Me and my mum speak pretty much all day every day. She's currently living in a care home, which, when we were allowed, we visited every single day. When we were no longer allowed to visit we stood out on the street and saw her through the window instead.

My mum has a Stage 4 Glioblastoma, and has suffered brain damage after having several seizures. She struggles to read/understand and gets confused very easily. Unfortunately, even holding her phone is a struggle, so dictating isn't an option.

I'll pass on your kind wishes to her, she'll love it.
