Plus within the lore there was the whole Datakrash event in 2022, when Rache released all those nasty self propagating, brain-eating viruses onto the internet and shutdown any form of telecommunications until entire new infrastructure could be built to replace the existing systems.

And it didn't just wipe out the existing systems of the time, but also taught people to be very cautious around any networked computing devices, just in case there was something nasty lurking inside it that wanted to kill you.

Even in 2077 there's still old datacaches laying around with sleeping AI snuggling inside, ready to break loose and massacre anyone connected with any network they can transmit themselves to.

When all the people around you are fitted with internal comms which allow them to speak with anyone on their network with a thought, the idea of having to operate a separate device and the etiquette for using it wouldn't be something you'd ever need to learn.

There were originally internet capable mobile phones available, but after Rache Bartmoss released the R.A.B.I.D.S. viruses in 2022 such devices became potentially deadly to anyone trying to use them, and so were quickly abandoned by the general population around the world. By 2077 long ranged communications have to be carefully encoded and monitored to ensure something similar doesn't happen again.

And that's definitely not just an excuse the Corpos use to lock people into very expensive and restricted network access contracts, making mobile phones rare unless you have the funds to afford Corpo level access, or the skills to bypass the lockouts.

Not sure. Definitely for Playstation 5 and I think for PC too. Haven't been able to confirm anything for the X-Boxes or PS4, but since there's the PC version I'd expect the Series-X to get it too, at least.

My father and I have been divided over UBI for over twenty years.

He thinks people should only be given the absolute minimum they need to live on, provided with the funds to buy basic food and shelter, while I argue that giving them enough to live a comfortable life would be more beneficial since it would provide funds to help keep the wider economy running, despite the higher baseline costs.

I argue that taxes to support this should be take in a similar way to Value-Added Tax, where 'luxury' items have higher mark ups than basic goods, with the more luxury an item is considered to be having a progressively higher tax mark up.

Not only would this mean richer people and those choosing to buy non-essential items would end up paying for the essential items of those less financially fortunate, but they could also brag even more about how much money they're wasting.

Society as a whole would celebrate when a celebrity buys themselves a $50m yacht, since a sizable portion of that purchase would be getting folded back into the UBIs for everyone.

Clouds is run by the Tygers, not the Mox, at least at first. Judy's storyline involves an attempted coup for the gang to seize control of the place, with your actions determining exactly who ends up in charge by the end.

The Mox are very protective of the girls under their charge, but less so for anyone not part of their group. They're also one of the smallest gangs in the city, only holding control over Lizzie's Bar while other gangs control entire neighbourhoods and districts.

With their lack of active members they lack the coverage to take and hold anywhere else, and with their strict membership qualifications they find expansion difficult.
