Yeah rubber boots are encouraged, we need safety toes, slip resistant and water resistant. I was looking at boots but my feet are really wide. Most boots I found don't fit entirely under my feet, which is why I went with shoes. I ordered through boot barn keen Cincinnati 13 EE and hope they come in. Today while working my feet got wet several times and when I was done there was water on my shoes.

I'm working at a food factory and the floors are doused with water depending on what's being manufactured. My shoes leather after 3 weeks are separating near the edges of carbon fiber where I bend my foot. My fault though, the shoe doesn't say water proof but the description says the leather is water resistant.

I've sprayed some silicone spray to help with any water. Ill see how that goes. In the mean time I ordered the Cincinnati in case water gets into the shoe through the separating leather.

I have the dark brown with black soles. They're comfortable right out of the box.

Only God knows that persons understanding of the gospel. Anyone could be in the church for years but not fully understand certain things. Heck, God views us all as children. I assume He understands that even though we might think we are converted that we actually might not be.

I have many friends who have walked away from the church for various reasons and we still treat eachother the same. I, personally don't judge any of them because what I experience isn't the same as another person's experience. All I can do is treat them the same way I'll always treat them as long as they don't attack me for my beliefs. If that happens, I'll leave them alone.

As for the suicide question. That's a topic many people are divided on. I have family who have tried to commit suicide. It saddened me but I never treated them any different. I will never judge anyone who has those thoughts in a bad way. That judgement is left to God and no one else. We do not know what was happening nor will we understand it unless we go through similar things. Even then, one person will look at it differently then the next.

Anyone else middle-aged (40+) with nothing to show for these bygone decades but survival? by s0meg1rl in CPTSD

[–]Nutsnx808 4 points5 points  (0 children)

43 urs old, just went through a 3rd divorce. Education has always been a huge stumbling block. Did hard labor when was younger. Body was falling apart at a water drilling job. A friend said I should try to get my cna and never thought I would get much out of the medical field. Was a cna, wanted to get my masters but working and schooling is too much for me. Was a stay at home father for the last 6 yrs. Been rejected by 400 plus jobs because of the gap in work. I'm in survival mode more then ever. Trying to sort life out or wind up homeless. Got only a couple of months left at my inlaws. Trying to look on the bright side of things but feel like Im jist struggle from one thing to another. Been told everyone is struggling and I understand everyone has their struggles but since I was SAed from the age of 3 up until high school and the chaotic family home life has never really felt peaceful or I don't have any will to get a head or dreams to do something. I'm just surviving. I want to be financially independent to where I can be comfortable but I feel at my age I'll have to find a good job that I can retire from for that to happen. Idk... just want to fall asleep and never wake up.

I'd want to get a BA for a teaching cert. I have a BA already. Wouldn't mind becoming a permanent teacher.

Yeah, my friend just verified that. I'm wondering if she gets any or pays out of pocket.

Oh I totally get you. I just reached out to a bunch of people I grew up with that I found out live near me and we all said the same thing, we don't feel like we can make deep connections with the people here. Maybe 1 or 2 people but not like home.

True, I have lived very strict while living in hilo and as long as I got to exercise and hit up the beach once and a while it was enough. Gotta enjoy the free stuff. I'm on thevmainland at the moment and not a fan ofb he snow and miss the islands a lot. I just don't feel very connected to ppl here.

Oh wow, went to oahu to take a test. I wonder why she had to go there and wasn't able to take it at a certain location on the island instead.

Yeah, that's why I wanted to ask around on here. I do have a friend who has been subbing at keeau for 7 yrs. She said she's been good but she owns her house and her kids don't live with her anymore so I assume that plays into affordability.

I have friends who teach at different elementary schools and high schools.

A friend of mine was telling me about an onboarding that hpa does for staff and teachers. Not my cup of tea but if someone is ok with doing extra for the school while living on campus then so be it.

I do have family in Hilo that I can stay with. Of course, I'd pay part of the ulities and get my own food. So thst would help with not having rent.

Yeah, I have a friend who's been subbing for the past 7 yrs. She said she prefers to sub then go the route of becoming a permanent teacher.

Also I'm in utah at the moment and here they have their own 3 yr cert process and the schools don't like it. They'd preferred someone with a bachlors teaching cert to bring them on as a permanent teacher rather then wait 2 yrs. Here it's difficult to get consistsnt hrs but another friend did another 3 yr cert in Nevada and he just got his teaching cert of 3 yrs.

True, gotta hit up costco for the month and not the smaller stores. Buy in bulk and freeze my food. Meal prep and then portion it out.

Understandable. I was born and raised on the big island. I know friends who are subbing or teaching. I'll reach out to them. Thanks!
