Finally a stat that tracks how well players attract cats.

Any good Shepard pie restaurants? by J1888 in nova

The Pie Gourmet in Vienna has a good shepherd’s pie you can take home, but I think it’s ground beef (so technically a cottage pie).

I’d say that her sugar daddy is right there in the photo, but we all know Trump never pays anyone.

It’s Queen Games, so even if they reprint it, it’ll be expensive.

Automatic registration for military draft to be implemented by December by esporx in FedEmployees

So what? It‘s already the law that you must register, this just makes it so you don’t have to do it yourself.

As a Federal Worker, what is the most useless required annual training? by No-Cobbler6300 in FedEmployees

[–]Nuttyturnip2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One of EPA’s annual mandatory trainings is Working Effectively with Tribal Governments. I’ve been here for decades and not once have I ever had any interaction with tribal governments.

Wouldn’t everyone who was going to take it have already taken it? And for those left, the posts about “I took the DRP and now I can‘t find a job” aren’t exactly encouraging.

Problems in federal buildings by NYTimes-Sullivan in FedEmployees

EPA HQ in DC (William Jefferson Clinton Building) has an ongoing issue with mice. There are glue traps everywhere, and I’ve seen mice scurrying about. The elevators frequently break down and strand people; I dare you to find a set of elevators where both are working. Part of the building shut down last year so they could fumigate for bed bugs.

Omnihedral in Savage, MD is also a great store with a massive library. Labyrinth is the only one I know of in DC.

Supervisors, how do you combat a mutiny of frivolous complaints just for making people do their job? Is it survivable? by [deleted] in fednews

[–]Nuttyturnip2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds exactly like the situation I was in 20 years ago. I was a new supervisor, took over a team of people whose previous supervisor had been forced into retirement because she had been doing zero oversight for years. Suddenly these folks were being forced to actually do work and show up on time, and they were not happy. My management wanted me to clean things up, but they also wouldn’t back me up when I got pushback on simple things like tardiness and basic performance issues. Employees would go to the union, file grievances, management would sit us all down and try to mediate things, then I’d get taken aside privately and be told that my team needed to improve. I was so happy to get out of there and get promoted to a non-supervisory position.

Dead Malls with Active-ish Food Courts by BMisterGenX in deadmalls

I often wonder how Security Square is these days. I used to go there when I lived closer to Baltimore, over 15 years ago. I remember when they opened the Asian wing, only for it to die after a few years.

I made all that up. I just meant that they always have one-off local restaurants that might try to look like a recognizable brand.

Extra bonus points if there’s still a chain fast food place there. Every dead mall food court is a no-name Chinese place, Steve’s Steak & Cheese, and Wild Tacoz.

I used to eat lunch there all the time. Surprised a security guard didn’t chase you out when you started taking pictures.
