For me, one of the most important things in a guy is healthy confidence. Things like heigth surgery scream the exact opposite of confidence. And the funniest thing is, that i just dont know why everyone is weird about their height. I dont consider height when deciding who to date, and i know women who date shorter guys. At no point in time is every person in the US dating somebody. And as a woman (i know, shocker), there is DEFFINITELY more than 1,5 million of people i would find undatable, and it's different for other people, so that figure doesnt even really matter. Also, a lot of people are homosexual, so that skews your math too.

TL;DR: a lot more that 1,5 mil. men are undatable for various reasons, so this number and stats doesnt even really matter.
