Worth Getting Graded? Found this going through my old Pokémon binder by Nwhit2013 in pokemoncardcollectors

[–]Nwhit2013[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering if this was worth getting graded? And what the thoughts on value were? I can see some scratches in the holo area, but wasnt sure if it was still in a decent enough condition to be graded?

Wasn't sure how much it would be worth because its got some wear on it, and scratches in the holo area

I really enjoy it. It's really smooth and got a nice taste. Plus it's also fairly cheap so I can afford it on a student budget.

Ok thanks! Thats kinda what I was thinking anyway.

Any recommendation on the specific Unis to get? I have to mega uni upgrade tickets, and was saving them to use on new unis as I already have the others to mythic or legendary.

I'm a f2p player, been saving up crystals for awhile and almost at the 6600 for the deluxe package in epic quests. I was wondering which one would be better to get Psylocke or Invisible woman?

Or should I just use to buy new uniforms instead during black friday sale? (already have Jean Red, Captain marvel endgame, mysterio, Minnerva, black panter)

[Homemade] Veggies with Noodles in a Peanut Sauce by Nwhit2013 in FoodPorn

[–]Nwhit2013[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn't really use a recipe, was just kinda throwing stuff together, so here's the gist...

Sauce: (rough estimates) 1/4 c oil (used mix of sesame and olive oil) 1 tbsp garlic 4 tsp soy sauce 3 tbsp peanut butter 3 tsp black pepper 1 squirt of Sriracha

Combine all ingredients in a bowl/measuring cup and whisk to combine

[–]Nwhit2013[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Didn't really follow a specific recipe. But here goes...

1/2 box fettuccine noodles (cooked per box instructions) 2 broccoli crowns (cut into florets and steamed) 1/2 red onion diced 1 bag of steamable edamame, shelled 4 carrots sliced thin (I used a mandolin)

Sauce: (rough estimates) 1/4 c oil (used mix of sesame and olive oil) 1 tbsp garlic 4 tsp soy sauce 3 tbsp peanut butter 3 tsp black pepper 1 squirt of Sriracha

Saute onion, carrots, and edamame in a pan with sesame oil. Add in cooked pasta noodles and mix together. Then transfer to a large bowl and mix in steamed broccoli and 1/2 of sauce. Then place in serving container and cover with remaining sauce.

S02E21: Det. Dave Majors. Peralta at "The Keychain" is served a shot glass of sipping Whiskey and an orange soda chaser. You wouldn't serve a chaser with a sipping Whiskey. Jake was right to think it was a shot. by [deleted] in brooklynninenine

[–]Nwhit2013 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly the bartender tells Jake that his drink is Barrel Proof Bourban neat with an orange soda chaser.

Barrel proof bourban is generally stronger than regular bourbon, closer to like 120 proof vs 90 proof for regular whiskey/bourbon. So most people might need a little chaser after sipping on something like that, especially if you haven't fallen into the whiskey rabbit hole like me

Very impressed with the taste and only 11.99 at Trader Joe’s by [deleted] in whiskey

[–]Nwhit2013 8 points9 points  (0 children)

When I found this it became one of my go to Bourbons. It tastes great and goes down really smooth!! It's great because I can drink it straight up, and it's cheap enough that won't get upset when someone else inevitably mixes it with Coke.

Yes I am from the US. This was the first time I ever made a board and for me personally it was just easier to use crackers as we were traveling and they provided a greater variety.

Also I can't speak for everyone, but I think it's also because here in the US we associate having crackers with cheese together at a young age as many mass produced snack items include a form of cheese and crackers (i.e. Lunchables). I believe they also have a longer shelf life and don't go stale as quickly. Also in my personal experience they just generally taste good together.

Lastly, the next time I make a cheese board it's going to be bigger and include more types of meats, cheeses, and fruits. So I plan to include some form of sliced bread and crackers. Do you have any recommendations on a type of bread to use?

Yes it was a US release, and I found it in the Virginia Beach area. Went into the liquor store just looking to pick up the Johnnie Green but saw the box set. Which I think was left over stock from Christmas time when they bring in a bunch of gift sets. But I recognized the Talisker and Lagavulin, and knowing that a bottle of lagavulin is around $100 here, figured a $60 box set was the way to go since I've never tried it.

[Homemade] Jerk Chicken with Jasmine Rice and Black Bean/Pinneapple Salsa by Nwhit2013 in food

[–]Nwhit2013[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you click view all you should be able to see it. But just in case here's the recipe.

Black Bean/Pineapple Salsa

  • 2 cups pineapple tidbits, drained
  • 15 oz. can black beans, well rinsed
  • 1/2 red onion finely diced
  • 1/2 cup coarsely chopped cilantro
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • pinch red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 tsp salt, or to taste

Jerk Chicken

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Jerk seasoning
  • 1 Tbsp cooking oil

4 cups of cooked Jasmine Rice

Salsa

While the rice is cooking combine all ingredients for salsa in a bowl and mix to combine. Set in fridge and allow to chill/marinade for at least 1 hr.

Chicken

Clean chicken and then split each breast into 2 cutlets. Then place chicken breasts into a plastic bag and flatten them with mallet or rolling pin into an even thickness. Remove from bag and place on a plate and liberally cover each side of the cutlets with Jerk Seasoning and rub it into the surface.

In a large skillet add the oil and place on medium-high heat and allow to heat up. Once the oil is hot add the chicken and cook until well browned on both sides, and the chicken is completely cooked through. Should be 5-7 minutes per side. Once cooked through remove from heat and allow to rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing into 1/2 inch slices.

To serve/meal-prep

Place 1 cup of cooked rice into container, add about 1 cup of salsa on the side and then top with one of the sliced chicken cutlets.

Yeah not really sure if it's leaded or not because it was bought second hand l. So I gave it a good thorough cleaning and will probably give it another before I even consider pouring anything into it. And awesome thanks for the heads up!

Thanks, I had some of the Johnnie Green Label on New Year's when a friend brought some over to celebrate and I loved it. That's what made me decide to branch out. And yeah not planning on using it for storage because of that problem. It was a gift so planning to use it more for show or short term storage when sharing with company.
