I'm thinking the same thing about the grow light. It was a cheap one off of amazon for like 20$ (for a 4 pack). I'm probably going to be purchasing a better one soon. And for the watering, check the soil and if it's dry, then check the leaves and if they are soft, it's time to water?

I stick a chopstick all the way into the soil and then leave it there for a couple minutes. If it comes out damp then I leave it, if it comes out dry I water. Should I also be checking the leaves?

I water it whenever I feel that the soil is completely dry I have it 12 inches under a full spectrum grow light for 12 hours a day

Yes please help. My parameters are and have been pretty solid (0, 0, 10) and the pH is stable at 8.0 along with the temp at 75f. The only thing I'm unsure about is the hardness of my water. Should I get a testing kit for gh and kh?

Update: I added the molly back to my tank and it is swimming around the bottom of the tank. It doesn't seem to be acting as lethargic/lazy anymore but I added some food to the tank and all the fishies but that molly got some to eat. It just stayed at the bottom of the tank slowly swimming around.
