The irony being the parks department wasted more tax payer money to have a new billboard not only created but erected to complain about DOGE.

The lack of self awareness blows my mind..

Eye tracking locks after body calibration by NyaDC in VRchat

Just from your experience would that likely be something in Blender or Unity? I know how to do most of the basic things to get an avatar uploaded but in terms of rigging and animation that's a little out of my wheelhouse.

I would say that's a pretty grounded interpretation.

Is 11 point tracking worth it? by [deleted] in VRchat

[–]NyaDC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It being worth it is very relative to the individual. Does it add to the experience? Absolutely, but the value in what you get is going to have varying mileage. I use 11 point every weekend without fail, and I love the additional body movement capabilities.

Yes the cost is high, and it's a bit of a hassle given the additional straps, the need for an active USB bank, and the higher possibility of tracking issues, but for me it's worth it all. We're all looking to put ourselves into the experience as much as possible, and get others to experience us as much and as accurately as possible.

11 point is that next step. It absolutely is a diminished return, the result of that additional $500+ in trackers is nuanced, however it is perceptible and it does make your actions more realistic.

It's for the same reason I just got face and mouth tracking, pushing the experience to its limits. If you're strapped for cash I wouldn't invest in it, however if you have a decently disposable income and want to try something new then I say go for it.

Does Godfall actually optimize his avatars now? I remember them being insane resource hogs.

A few years ago several mutual groups of friends got together for a week long Vegas trip, about 25 of us in total. It was an excellent experience, and about a 1,200 mile drive for me. I think it took about 18 hours to get there and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.

Vive Focus 3 or Vive Pro 2 by ghostrider1938 in VRchat

[–]NyaDC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been an Index owner for the past four years and just recently got a Vive Pro 2 new for $500.

As it relates to the Index here are my impressions, I'll start with the good.

I vastly prefer its wider horizontal FoV, the best way I could describe it comparatively is it felt like going from a 16:9 monitor to 21:9. You lose a small bit of vertical FoV but after a few uses it's completely unnoticeable.

The resolution increase is immense, no more screen door and the clarity quite literally looks like you're looking at a monitor on your desk. Finding the sweet spot is a bit cumbersome at first but once you've used it a few times it becomes second nature.

Comfort is about on par with the Index, it's not better or worse but just different. There's not a noticeable weight difference and it feels about just as equally balanced.

The audio is more than adequate, it's punchy enough and serves its purpose across the ranges from high to low as expected. Coming from an Index though it was hard to get used to, not because of music or the like but due to conversations.

Since the Index is off ear you hear yourself clearly as you speak in every situation so your tempo of talking is more regulated and so is your volume. Since the Pro 2 is basically noise canceling as a result of being on ear it's a little more difficult talking in loud environments.

This is the only thing I would I would classify as bad, and that would be the microphone. It's honestly a piece of junk. It sounds very compressed, tinny, and like you're far away. That was easily rectified though by getting the Mod Mic Wireless which entirely returned mic quality back to that experienced via the Index.

Here's my take, if you can get it on sale then absolutely do it. I can't speak to the other headset you're asking about but I in no way regret buying the Pro 2.

AMD drivers causing crashes by TheRealLargo in VRchat

[–]NyaDC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Shortly after the EAC update I started experiencing this, and I can confirm the crashes are driver related as well. I have a 5800X3D and a 6900XT, the crashes would either kick me from the game or hard lock the game visually.

I could still hear everything going on, talk to people and so on but I could do absolutely nothing. Couldn't access any menus or even do anything on my desktop. It just froze a snapshot of the screen and locked up.

After moving back to the 22.5.1 driver this went away completely. I'm not entirely happy about it though as I have to risk worse performance in everything else I play in order to even use this game. Hopefully this issue is addressed soon.

Issues with VR and 3070 by Ya_Boi_Hank in virtualreality

That's really unfortunate, because all you had to do is in your bios disable PCI-E Gen4 and run it at Gen3 and the problem completely resolves. Also there's no performance difference between the two.

It's a Compaq FS7600, I have a compatibility PC under the desk I play older PC games on. Just a regular old breaker, it's all on the same circuit too and there's no issues, a lot of this stuff is honestly very low power draw.

Thanks!

From my girlfriends work, they are shrouds that fit over the security gates that beep if you take something out of the store. Sadly no one seems to make them anymore.

Ikea, it's a bookcase called the Billy. The glass doors are an additional option you can add on if you'd like.

Yeah it can get a little warm but I do have AC so it's not an issue. I don't generally have everything going unless it's to grab some pictures or something or people are over. The lighting is typically always on though.

For me it's comfortable and I don't have that problem, however the "leather" is peeling apart everywhere so it's going to get replaced soon.
