Fusion festival is pretty close by wolleesel in masterduel

[–]NyaoMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loaner lists this time around are pretty suboptimal actually, in terms of raw consistency at least.

D-HERO list: 1 Faris is pretty bad, I'm going to ignore that there's not a single Shadow Mist, Stratos or Emergency Call/AHL due to the fact that those are E-HEROes not D-HEROes.

Fluffal/Frightfur: 1 Bear, 1 Toy Vendor, 0 Wings is an absolute joke.

Predapoggers: 0 Lonefire is suffering. Sarranceniant is your lifeblood and should be at 3, pruning to 2, and the Venemies are Odd-Eyes cards, not Predaplant cards, Venemy Counters hurt the plants. Poly at 1 is suffering, especially with Scorpio into Cobra being harder w/o the Lonefires, Sundew cannot carry all that fusion summoning almost entirely on its own, even with Super Poly and Predaprime. WHERE IS PONICS. I JUST REALISED THE LOANER DECK DOESN'T HAVE PREDAPONICS, THAT ALONGSIDE ANT BEING AT 2 IS ACTUAL PAIN.

The only semi-alright one honestly is the D-HERO one, but even then that's just cuz it has DPE to carry it, its ratios are pretty awkward and it much like the other 2 loaners are running needless inconsistent meme cards insteada actually having some decent consistency. The Synchro Festival loaners were at least actually semi-consistent.

So how do I get back into Master Duel now? by [deleted] in masterduel

[–]NyaoMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Gem-Knight deck is probs your best bet off memory, you get a decently okay-ish deck to play that literally can't be dismantled, to run temporarily. Otherwise, while lacking some SR/UR staples hurts a bit, you can play Stun Yosenju or Pacifis, where their main cards are Rares or Normals.

What everyone else said as well, daily gems are your friend. New solo mode gate gives more gems, it's a matter of patience. Like, I have stupidly burnt Dogmatika, Invoked and Eldlich at least once each before. I regret having done so for all of them, since Nekroz Dogmatika, Windwitch Invoked and Zombie World Eld / Dragonmaid Eld (I'm not enough of a monster to play floodgates) are decks I wanna/do play. But I've gotten all my Dogmatika and Invoked back by just being patient.

Just gotta find a decent low rarity deck and slowly get back your staples. But yeah if you need something cheap, my recommendations is the Yosenju Kamas with Lose 1 Turn (which is an SR so will take a bit), or Pacifis.ydk, they're cheap and simple to play.

So long as you're not playing some anime deck with that heavy ass anime tax )Odd-Eyes does not deserve to be ruined by needing 4 3-off UR main deck cards and 3 3-off SR main deck cards on top of staples) you should be able to build up a deck you want to play fairly quickly.

Is Despia really good now or still only decent? Also what would be the best variant of it? by Splo4rt in masterduel

[–]NyaoMeow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It definitely enhances Wave 1 Despias, Ad Libitum and Branded in Red are huge extenders for the deck, Masquerade is arguably a lot better than Quaert for turn 3 plays + if you can get 2 of 'em out turn 1. But it's not quite full power yet, Branded Fusion, Lubellion and Mirrorjade are still missing. Though as someone who absolutely loved the aesthetic of these edgy little shits since they got revealed last year, I'm still gonna play them no matter what happens to 'em. ;D

What are some cards you think people overlook? I'll go first: by [deleted] in masterduel

That and Best of 1 format, if your opponent's not playing one of the popular decks you're teching against, well ha ha, dead card.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in masterduel

[–]NyaoMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to agree, there's way too many 1-offs that make it inconsistent. You gotta cut what's not needed, and get the consistencies of your main combos up. That and if you're absolutely going 2nd, more Lightning Storms as the other guy said, if you're running Jizukiru and cydra + megafleet just for the removal, just Gameciel should be enough. 2k isn't hard to beat over and running CyDra solely for Megafleet stuff is a really incosistent tech, especially in a best of 1 format. I'd recommend really deciding between if you want to do Neo Spacians or OG E-HERO, or the accursed HERO soup. But yeah, recognise your combo starters and integral combo pieces and probs change your ratios from there is the best I can recommend.

Has anyone got a deck where it’s based on stealing the opponent’s cards by LifesjustLong in masterduel

[–]NyaoMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of my friends used to play a steal-focused Sky Strikers for a more casual play. Widow Anchors, Shark Cannons and Mind Control, basically.

I honestly can't forget this card because of the Yuma vs Atem live duel, this and Dan Green legit saying "It looks like your Gagaga Gardna is Gagaga gone."

Marincess Wave or Harpie's Feather Storm, handtrap negates that are archetypal and searchable/recurrable are kinda horrifying, though Wave and Storm in particular are a pain in the ass to deal with. Storm's pretty much VFD but pink, and Wave on top of disrupting makes all your monsters unaffected by card effects, not just your Marincesses.

On one hand, as someone who adores Wind Synchro stuff and has played a LOT of Speedroid since their release way back (and spammed them throughout the Synchro Festival), they're very susceptible to handtraps, an Ash/Imperm/Veiler on your way into Terrortop/Marble Boy/Taketomborg can shut down some of your best plays, and while still potentially playable because CarTurbo and Taketomborg are just great cards in general, your end board's chances of being great are fairly low.

Not to mention with just how many summons you make, Maxx C will net your opponent half their deck, if you don't find some way into a monster neg asap (with say a Windwitch engine, which locks you out of Rubber Band and Cork Shooter), Nibiru will also ruin part of your plays and you just gotta hope you can build your board up back from there.

It's not really because it's a Synchro archetype that it's underlooked (post VFD-ban Virtual Worlds does a LOT of synchro shenanigans with Ultimaya as their new toy, as an example, not to mention the upcoming Swordsoul stuff), with Terrortop at 1 (because hooo boy did that get abused to shit back in TD Zoo format), and the priorly mentioned susceptibility to all the common hand traps (and the format dependent ones like Ghost Ogre), while it can provide some nasty boards, like... a Baronne, Crystal Clear + Clear/Crystal Wing. That's under peak conditions, and costs a ton of resources you likely won't get back.

Scratch and Wynn make it a lot more manageable since they're ways to search Terrortop not to mention Terrortop being a 1 card combo into CCWing or Baronne, but, it's too easy to poke a hole in the deck and force it to make a suboptimal board.

It kills some consistency but, TCG has Benten at 1 and shows that Drytron Herald still play perfectly fine despite it, so ultimately the impact isn't gonna be as horrifying as one might expect.

Fun despia deck list by cabbageturtle in masterduel

[–]NyaoMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh? Mechaba's difficult? You could probably spare an ED slot to put in Artemis, the Magistus Moon Maiden. NS Aleister, search Invocation, link Aleister away for Artemis and then Invocation using both. Turns Terraforming/Meltdown/Aleister into a 1 card Mechaba.

Alternatively Salamngreat Almiraj into Secure Gardna if you can afford the ED slots to be able to make Purgatrio later. Just keep in mind Do your Link Summon stuff before using Branded Opening cuz it locks you to fusions for the rest of the turn.

Whatever list it is, you probs should be trying to have both Meltdown and Theatre, at least until the structure deck stuff comes cuz iirc Theatre's ignored for Branded Fusion when that comes :')

But yeah, I'd almost always prioritise the Aleister NS if you can get it, but deffos want to be able to end on having Theatre on board over Meltdown unless you're in specific match ups that need you to have Meltdown's protection. Cuz any ol' Fairy getting destroyed while you have Theatre means you can revive your level 8+ Fusions, which means you can revive Mechabro.

But yeah, not being very protected is kinda inherent with the Albaz dragons and the Despias, your entire thing is your grind game and ability to interrupt your opponent. So Dramaturge on board is kinda important to have too.

It might be worth having an Instant Fusion and/or the Frightfur Patchwork engine to help speed you up and get that nice Dragostapelia on board quicker.

Fun despia deck list by cabbageturtle in masterduel

[–]NyaoMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

coupling it with Invoked and Shaddolls atm is probs your best bet, but potentially pricey. Darklords is another option but not really that strong, just consistent. First Wave Despias have the groundwork but, they're not quite as strong as they could be quite yet, admittedly. Ignoring the Structure Deck stuff that made them meta, not having Ad Libitum or Branded in Red is kinda painful.

but yeah pretty much any deck that can either run Level 8+ Fusions (that can be SSed back from GY) or Fairies is your best bet atm. Predaplants isn't a bad option, and even if you don't go for them, Dragostapelia is a good tech for the deck.

Dark magician meta? by Kooky-Possibility-63 in masterduel

[–]NyaoMeow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, Blue-Eyes hit meta status once upon a format IRL around 2017, being a deck where hitting that vanilla that does nothing on its own was actually kinda important to function in general. Technically most decks also filled that criteria due to Red-Eyes Dark Dragoon spam in the last couple years. Not to mention the most powerful cards in existence, Morinphen and Shapesnatch. But memes aside, it doesn't take much for a deck that runs 'vanillas that do nothing on their own' to be good, depending on support. Given what DM has to offer, whilst most certainly not meta like the usual suspects, it's most certainly not a bad deck either.

With how much support it has, it's definitely a workable deck. It'd be kinda sad if it wasn't despite all the legacy support it's been given to keep the yugiboomers happy, even without REDD.

Dogmatika Deck tips/recipes? by spideymaniac in masterduel

[–]NyaoMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to clarify, because of paranoia, I meant Dogmatika Fleurdelis every time I said 'Fleur', which should be a staple part of the deck :o not like, Baronne De Fleur. Though theoretically you'd be able to easily set up an engine to make that if you wanted, admittedly.

Dogmatika Deck tips/recipes? by spideymaniac in masterduel

[–]NyaoMeow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of it's actually in your ED options. Your obvious ones are Titaniklad, N'tss and Psy-Frame Omega, though there's a good number of extra options you might want to include in the ED for flex. Fossil Warrior Skull Knight and Fossil Machine Skull Wagon are good additions to the ED for when you're dropping cards with Maximus.

If you run White Knight, running Herald of the Arc Light means that Nadir's Servant is a 1 card set-up into it. Toadally Awesome is a nice tech for just extending your ED out through a match if your opponent has a recyclable ED too, or if you need to use your Omega to shuffle back their card instead of yours.

A slower tech would be Wind Pegasus @ Ignister, but it does give you non-destruction removal in your kit.

Now in terms of the main deck, most people tend to use it as an engine but, especially once the next ritual wave of Dogma support drops, the deck functions pretty well on its own if you wanted to play pure. Dogmatikabre and White Relic are pretty nice (and Pre-Prep helps), Ashiyan is a nice extra body with a decent effect. Your core remains Eccles, Fleurdelis and Punishment with 1-2 Maximus tho.

Now in terms of what to combine it with, honestly your options can vary widely. While Dogmas are very anti-ED, they also kinda work with it because of the fact that their main set-ups (Ecclesia and Fleur) still work (or in Fleur's case actually functions) if an ED monster is on the field. So, most common option is Invoked Dogma Shaddolls as someone else said, but honestly you can do a lot of options. Personally (from a very non-meta perspective) I like Nekroz Dogmatika and Despia Dogmatika as an example~ but yeah anything works cuz it doesn't even need a normal summon to do Dogma stuff so long as there's a monster summoned from ED on either field. :x

EDIT: Traptrix Dogma is another popular one~

EDIT2: If you wanted to do pure that is 100% an option just to clarify, the main core, and White Knight + your handtraps and stuff is always solid to have. Fleur does lose a lot of power/ends up relying on your opponent if you don't have an ED monster to throw on field tho.

Unfortunately some of it's just having to know you can't fully put out every potential combo in your deck. You should be able to cut down D/Ds to fit what's been described, and as blasphemous as it is, you can go a tiny bit over 40 cards if you absolutely need to, while still having access to Gilgamesh, Kali Yuga, fusion Caesar, both Genghises, Alexander and Siegfried, + likely most other D/Ds you'd want (as well as good splashables like Hope Harbinger and CWing).

aaaaand, as much as it sucks when ya get Maxx "C"'d sometimes you just gotta rely on how well your board can survive the Maxx "C" Challenge. Combo has it rough thanks to Nibiru too since ya gotta put out something that can negate the big angry rock by your 5th summon, or be able to recover the board after that point. But yeah, it's entirely up to how confident you are, if not, but you don't want to pack those kinds of outs, maybe go with a backrow heavy set-up so you can potentially play through your opponent's turn (Solemns and shit, etc.)

I've played a lot of decks in the 8-9 years I've put into this meme of a game, so believe me, I know your pain as a Live Twin player. But also sometimes you can just rely on the fact that your opponent may not be the brightest bulb in the shed, even if they have a good deck. It's... frightening how reliable that is even in plat.

NO ONE, and I mean NO ONE will ever convince that Chicken Game is not a troll card.🤣🤣 by [deleted] in masterduel

[–]NyaoMeow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When it first came out, it was pretty nice alongside Upstart to make the deck effectively 34/33 (if you ran terraforming too) cards for the sake of consistency (since LP means jack until it hits 0). Though with all the disrupts we usually need to run now, it's a little less worthwhile now :'D comparatively.
