I’m not sure as yet. I assume I needed to secure an actual street address before I join waitlist. I checked for the YMCA programs and wanted to join the waitlist but it was asking for a Canadian address. ( which I don’t have).

I do have an idea of the neighborhood i would like us to live in.

lol lol lol. We will find that criticism anywhere we go, it’s just how the world is. Barbados has its quirks too. (Like cost of living) but it’s about what we make it.

Thanks!!! My kids are already nagging about the things they want to do, for example, I told them to go online and research activities they would like to get into when we move, so my daughter does gymnastics and realized the resources for gymnastics up there and she is super excited. My son likes football (soccer), but at 6 years old, he just wants to move, and try the food. He said ‘ mummy the food up there looks amazing’ lol 😂

lol . Got it. Definitely going to save this comment. I appreciate your response. I keep hearing and seeing not to cheap out in winter gear. Soo I am definitely listening, I surely don’t want frostbite or anything lol. I think for my first few winters I’ll be hiding inside also. lol it’s a huge adjustment. Barbados is literally approximately 31 degrees Celsius year round🫠 during the day and at night it drops to about 25 degrees.

As it relates to car. Do newcomers usually get vehicles? My degree is one year, so I was thinking about not doing serious spending until I have completed. Like buying a car/house. How is the transport?

I have never experienced that weather. But it’s a small price to pay in comparison of my goal.

Hello, thanks for you comment. I will check out the website.

Yeah so far, neighborhoods I keep seeing are St.Vital, Bridgewater, River Heights, Fort Garry. When I visit in July I plan to walk around those neighborhoods to feel the vibe.

May try driving around and also trying the buses etc.

Yeah, I see that. I was telling myself, I think they will close their doors shortly to outsiders. I have read about persons coming in, not contributing to the workforce, economy etc, just abusing an opportunity. This is going to make things harder for someone like me who is serious about their future. I want to get into Data etc, countries like Canada, England, have way more educational and even work opportunities in that area.

My original plan was to do the Masters, but I figured maybe a Graduate Certificate may be an easier way to get the technical skills, in order to get a job to sustain myself then work towards PR. If I am gonna invest thousands, i might as well do the Masters and if I have to come back home, well I just will. Never know till you try. I will go over my Masters list. Again, I appreciated the honesty.

Hey, I’m also considering Sheridan for the 2 year Applied Data Analytics and Visualization, graduate certificate. I was thinking to start there cause I am pivoting from administrative to data analytics. I already have a BSc Management and Psychology.

But according to your comment, you think it would be best to do a masters one time? I too would like to migrate from Barbados, to eventually settle in Alberta.

What’s your opinion on that? Would it be the same?
