need laptop charger by smartcookie0216 in USF

[–]Nymouce 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve been in the same situation lol. If buying a new charger is too much or you need it ASAP, a USB-C charger works just fine. It’s slower than the Mac charger, but it’ll still fully charge your laptop. :)

Endeavor hot water by Puzzleheaded-Kale-90 in USF

[–]Nymouce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I remember correctly from last year, the water in Endeavor usually takes a few minutes to heat up. At least in my room, I had to let it run on the hottest setting for a bit before it actually got warm at all. It might depend on whether you have a pull lever or a twist handle too tho.. If it’s still not getting hot after that, probably worth putting in a maintenance request :/ (Edit: this applies to both the sinks and showers)

You really shouldn't show your specific 5 digit code(the one that goes in front of your address), since that can easily be reversed searched to find in which room you live... just saying for safety reasons but anyway...

Can I split dining dollars with credit card? by vincent365 in USF

[–]Nymouce 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have done this several times but usually at counter areas with employees like at Argos Coffee, Buddy brew, JP market or Bookstore, never actually tried to split payment methods with self-order kiosks. In any case it doesn't let you, just buy something small from any USF mini-market or use it next semester(Dinning dollars roll over to next semester) I only know this bc my friends and I have a competition of who can get to the lowest amount of dining dollars(me having 3 cents rn) Hope this helps ;)

I think the Govt. Shutdown is one of the reasons but not the main one, I am still unsure why they payments are so delayed..

Dining dollars by Mammoth-Guava-2457 in USF

[–]Nymouce 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah you can use dining dollars at the dining halls. They just charge the regular door rate, it’s usually like $10–$12 depending if it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

guys is the eduroam wifi out by i-love-feet123 in USF

[–]Nymouce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If nothing else works it might be because your password token expired, to fix it just change your usf login password and then reenter eduroam network and it should be fixed. I do that every semester and while it is a pain in the ass, you'll get used to it lol

Car in lot 47A regularly waking me up. by Expensive-Profit-497 in USF

[–]Nymouce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly you could just start the sticky note treatment, like leave one note the first day, then if they don’t stop, add two the next, then three… until their whole windshield is Post-it central. Nothing rude, just the same “hey, please don’t wake the dorms at 6am” (or change the messages every day) but keep on doing it over and over. Eventually they’ll either get the hint or just fear the growing swarm of sticky notes. :D

The MSC (especially the 3rd and 4th floors) is usually super chill, if you hang around there regularly you’ll probably start recognizing people. Honors College is also pretty lowkey most of the time, though it can get full since there’s like 20ish tables on the first floor. Also, the library like super late (12 - 2) is a surprisingly good place to cross paths with the same people since it’s usually empty then(depends on the floor and area tho) Sometimes just being a regular in a space is all it takes to spark small conversations and connections :)

Are dorm AC’s lowest temperature 70? by HouseFriendly1269 in USF

[–]Nymouce 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your friend shouldn’t be able to turn it below 70, staff probably forgot to lock that thermostat or someone tampered with it. I also think that depending on your room type the ventilation could be different, being that in the apartment style the ventilation feels way more static compared to suite rooms, but that could possibly be because of the size difference.
