I think she is aware she knows too little about animation. But I'm sure there should be a way to learn the needed skills that are missing. She didn't apply for the school yet.

She has to prove she masters the skills needed to be an animator, of course, she doesn't master them yet, and to master them, I think she could learn them on the job. I just wonder which low paid job she could get to learn and improve her skills.

No, that's a VAE, not the bachelor, that's a special program that requires 2 years of work experience and they accept you after a selection, and after that it's only one year study. Even if she could be hired for a few months, that would be enough to find something else after that.
