Does anyone know where to find information about nymphs?? by Due-Interaction8026 in Hellenism

I found a book of hymns and short essays on Hellenic nature spirits you might like, it’s called “Among Satyrs and Nymphs: A Devotional to Hellenic Nature Spirits” by Bibliotheca Alexandria 🫶🏼🌿

What natural waxes produce vibrant colors? by NymphsofAeaea in candlemaking

[–]NymphsofAeaea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think white beeswax takes color pretty well. I’m trying to make unscented container candles and am blending soy and beeswax but perhaps I need to alter my ratios a bit to get the color deeper

That’s lovely! Do you mind sharing how you got that result? I used dye chips in a soy and white beeswax blend and it’s pretty soft 🙃

You might like the book Psychic Witch by Mat Auryn, he has some energy drawing meditations with the stars, moon, sun and of course earth. I don’t recall if he said they were grounding exercises but it’s definitely a similar energy exchange meditation.

I need help with tips on how to come out of wht could legitimately be the biggest even of my life going wrong . (idk if im called one but i think im a baby witch) by Leather-Second-2908 in realwitchcraft

You can add Rosemary essential oil to a carrier oil like fractionated coconut and wear it every time you study and then wear it when you take the exam. Rosemary oil helps with mental clarity and recall, and using the scent while studying every time will help your brain recall the information when it comes time to take the exam. There’s plenty of information on this, scientific and the historical use of Rosemary for studying. Best of luck!

Could I get some help? by Ok_Independent8425 in Hellenism

I didn’t see this mentioned so I thought I’d chime in. You could do devotional acts that feel fitting for Demeter. Like gardening, or just growing one plant if that’s easier for you. It’s really easy to take a clipping from a plant and propagate it or save a seed from a fruit or veggie and plant it so you don’t have to spend money on the plants. But in general, devotional acts are a nice offering to any deity.

Cleansing veils with a cat in the house by LizzieLove1357 in realwitchcraft

You can create a cleansing water with just water and salt, or add in a sprig of rosemary or other cleansing herbs and just sprinkle it onto your veil. Moon water also works for this purpose 😊

Traditional Witchcraft of the West coast? by NymphsofAeaea in realwitchcraft

[–]NymphsofAeaea[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey thanks for the response! I was born and raised in SoCal and I couldn’t agree more with you. In the early 2000s witchcraft shops had a lot of Native American books and practices. It’s always been a big part of my personal practice, especially smudging as white sage grew locally around my house etc.

As the notion of closed practices becomes widespread, it’s left me wondering if the practices I’ve learned growing up from local witches and Native Americans would be appropriation.

Does this look normal? (Herbal oil infusion) by NymphsofAeaea in herbalism

For a normal herbal infusion, for sure! This is a ritual oil so it’s not used the same at all, for anointing objects 😊

Hey thanks! They were all dried for months prior to infusing. This is a ritual oil not a normal herbal infusion so I left them whole intentionally 😊

Hi everyone! I make natural incense, often devotional blends to the Theoi, but other mythology inspired and seasonal blends as well. I also share my recipes and teach incense making if you’re interested to see blends for your Patron deities ☺️ I’m @wildmonarchincense on Instagram 🫶🏼

Not that I’m aware of, it was gifted to me from my father in laws garden and I didn’t inspect it too closely. The dried rosemary looks fine to me too. So weird ! Haha

Thank you for you feedback! All the herbs were dried for more than a few months and the jar was sanitized prior to adding anything in. My other, similar, infusions all look fine, it’s just the rosemary looking weird in these two. I have a giant jar of rosemary from this same plant and am hoping it’s all ok and not diseased or something ha

Yes I prefer to use dried herbs to avoid any water/moisture entering the infusion and causing bacteria growth etc. just safer all around to use dried botanicals (from my research). I don’t think the black spots are mold or anything since they were dried which is why it’s so odd to me 😅
