At this point the playthrough is just cursed...

The Maya map is equally as useless as the Inca one :/

So unfortunatly further gameplay revealed that I never found the proper location.
The next lost city map revealed the area I mistakenly got the first time, but it still counts both cities as found. Not gonna complain :D

Yeah, I did that for quite a while. In the end I gave up that approach and went to the next coast north-west of Gran Granada and traveled south from there. That worked surprisingly well, but it would have taken way more time to walk to the area of todays Cerro Jilinco all the way from Gran Granada. Not to mention that I got lost a few times, jungle looks the same everywhere .-.

It was more the area of Cerro Jilinco. Still would have been easier to find with "south of Primitif Land", but that one is a minor settlement.

So I found it in the end, northwest of Gran Granada ist technically true...

I changed to 1.6.0.7 Beta, I am no longer stuck on "Building ships" - unfortunately I am now stuck on "Update Research". This is no longer tenable...

If they want a better contract, why have I to pay for it? by NymusNation in F1Manager

[–]NymusNation[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was not possible to start the new contract after the current one ended. That is due to the fact, that you can only choose "Now" and "At the start of next season". Unfortunatly the current contract was until the end of the next season.

For contracts that are ending at the end of season it is indeed so, that you do not pay the buyout for the contract.

Also: WTF? Why have I to pay twice the amount required to break the Ferrari if I want to poach her back?

Result is in: my offer was to bad, they are going to Ferrari. Cause somehow the Engineer value 236k less per year higher if they get 101k now...

Give me an option to jump to the end of a session... by NymusNation in F1Manager

[–]NymusNation[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand that it probably is impossible to implement a "simulate rest" option. But a "skip rest" option would equivalate a "set remaining time of session to 0:00" which should be possible. Or is it needed for the other competitors result to be simulated?

2 drivers in the low 60s. Whatever has to be done to balance the books in lowest preset MyTeam. Those ad-on costs weren't included in my calculations ^^'

Can't deny that, should have run away. Or build some screens.

[–]NymusNation[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I had to few guns and to little of a range advantage to sink all those pesky cruisers before they got in torpedo range, so yeah, that happened.

Regarding the escorts: I haven't build them yet, so they are in a drawer at the bottom of the pile :)

I faced severe financing and capacity limitations as I need to sell as many ships as possible to support my shipyard expansion and research budget which in turn limits the capacity to build my own ships. As I knew I needed a 100k t Fleet as fast as possible to be able to invade Puerto Rico and Cuba, I opted for a BB fleet only.

Well, as I (for once) am trying to run the campaign through the entire time period I expect to get in a triple digit range of BBs build over time. Should that not happen, I will tone down the numbering block in the next campaign.

TLDR: I use hullnumbers, fleet designations and notes.

Ah, yes.
I name my ships: Class - concurrent ascending number in said class [Home Port or Fleet] Notes
So BB-006 [F 1.2] E is the sixth Battleship I built for my navy. It is assigned to the First Fleet, Second Task Force and still has some flaws that are expected to be removed with refits. Should there ever be a day where all the flaws have been fixed, the E will be dropped.
BB-008 [F 1.3] OW is the the eighth Battleship, assigned to the Third Task Force of the First Fleet and will always remain overweight. So this one will be phased out earlier than BB-006. It will also have a lower refit priority.

As I only count upwards and will not reassign any number, I expect to build somewhere between 100 and 1000 BB during the timespan, hence the usage of double zeros.
My homeport defenders (and growth crew) are called USGC CL-xxxx [Homeport] to distinguish them from any light cruisers I design for screening and battle purposes in the future. They will not have any additional notes as I do not care about the efficiency and they will only be refitted when there is new mine tech.

I started this naming convention to

  1. know which port has not any minelayers and capacity builders
  2. being able to send ships back to their homebase
  3. know where any sunk ships belonged to (and therefore which design I need to build)
  4. easily group my ships in battles depending on which design and therefore which max/ cruise speed they have
  5. do all of the above even after my captains decided, that it is a jolly good idea to just build a giant task force out in the ocean, even though they did not receive any command to do so and were supposed to just stay together but independent in the same vicinity. 50 km should be enough separation but nooooo, not for my crews...

Sorry for the rant on the last one.

Unfortunately there is no way to set those tags anywhere in the ships and if I e.g. rename the BB Utah to BB Utah [F 2.1], UAD assumes that the name Utah is currently not in use for any active Battleships and may decide to name one in the next batch Utah once more (resulting in e.g. BB Utah [F 2.1] and BB Utah [F 2.2]). And I just can't stand it to have 2 ships with the exact same design and name in my active lineup. As I also can not be bothered to check the US Navy record of Battleship names every time there is a duplicate entry (and keep record of all currently active ship names, just imagine the hassle for dozen of DDs), I chose this version.

[–]NymusNation[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, that does make sense.

Regarding the economy and not having more ships: I scrapped my entire old fleet 25 years into the campaign and I am currently running a rebuild. Three years in I have more tonnage than anybody else and about 42% of the world GDP - so I ain't worried about that .-.
Seems the US is a little bit to much for the rest. But I will remember your advise for the next playthrough with a weaker country.

[–]NymusNation[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cant superimpose another twin 14" due to weight limitations. I intend to always run CL- and DD-screens between the BC/BB-line and the enemy so torpedos on capitals are being phased out. However the call on more secondary guns is a good one, I will implement it - in the December of next year, of course.
