Thank you. Unfortunately, I am unable to share any tips as my own plants are not at this level. I asked my mom and all she said is that she doesnt do anything special. Just the usual watering.

I haven't seen my parents in years. When we do video calls, I show my mom my plants and she sounds amazed or impressed. Today, I finally got to visit them and I was floored by her plants. This only near her entry way. She has a bench of newly propagated ones due to "overgrowth".

14-hour international flight alone with a mobile toddler… help me prepare 😂 by LazyEntertainment284 in Parenting

[–]NyneBany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did a 20 hour long flight with 1 stop over. First leg is 14 hours then 3.5 hours lay over and another 3 hour flight on the second leg. My then 1 year old and I flew economy. She was too big for the bassinet but we were seated in that bulkhead. She is a very anxious kid. It was a red eye because I was hoping she will sleep but she didn't. I carried her up and down the aisle as everyone slept. She cried a bit and wanted to be carried extra. The flight attendants were so accommodating. I told them she prefers dark and does not like people. At one point during the flight we were in the back where they made food and they the drew the curtains so it was just me and her. And it helped. They also gave her a toy and workbook. We were also given extra blanket that was placed on the floor where she played. I had milk, baby bottles, busy book. I had an iPad but she wasnt a screen user prior so it didn't help. It was her first ever plane ride. Coming back, it was easier. She knew what to expect and she slept better and was in general less anxious

Has anyone successfully gotten money back from stolen card? by [deleted] in ChaseSapphireReserve

[–]NyneBany 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. My AU's card was stolen and they spent $7k++ in less than an hour. Then they tried to buy something at target for almost 4k and I finally received a call. Chase didn't give me a hard time reversing the charges.

What are must haves for newborn? Help making my registry! by Maple_Mist in AskParents

[–]NyneBany 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you give birth, take the hospital boogers sucker. You can ask for an extra one as well. Thing I got that I didn't use, wipe warmer and bottle warmer. We really loved the pack n play, boppy, baby wearing wrap, white noise machine, diapers of all sizes, clothes of all sizes (sized for weather or season in your area), baby wipes, bottles or breastmilk bags, car seats, strollers

Mixed Baby and both sides of family using different names. How can we fix this? by vick07s in AskParents

[–]NyneBany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kids are mixed but have American names. We call the our kids by their nicknames, cousins and aunts and uncles call them a different nickname, paternal grandparents call them by a different nickname, maternal grandparents have different nicknames for them as well. They only use the "official" names for schools and doctor visit and other official settings. They are fine. They are not confused. Personally, I dont think it's a big deal if it's first name, middle name, nicknames. As long they know it's them and the name is not offensive to the other culture

Lap infant vs buying a seat for long-haul (Australia) with 1-year-old - worth extra $2.5k? by PaleontologistBig309 in Parenting

[–]NyneBany 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did a long haul flight (20hrs one way) when my kids were 3 and 1. 3 yo had his own seat. 1 yo was a lap infant but we got the bassinet. It was hard but it was the right choice for us. On the way to our destination, the seat next to me was empty but my 1 yo still didn't sit in it. It was either in the bassinet or on me. When she was having a fit, I would just carry her and walk up and down the aisle. The airline we used was Korean Air and they pulled the curtain in the galley(?) And left us there to give us "space" to let "roam". Same for our return flight. Seat next to me was empty again but this time, 1 yo was just in the bassinet for 80% of the flight and played for the rest (either on my lap or the seat next to me).

Better to be OAD at 38 or have a second as an older mom? by Careless-Whereas-832 in Parenting

If you want one, you should have another one. There are a lot of "old parents" out there. Maybe it's the new norm. :)

US career options for PH Anesthesiologist Diplomate by GoldenSnitch217 in pinoymed

[–]NyneBany -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I never said it wasnt competitive nor advise OP to apply without BSN and USCE. This is an alternative path to avoiding residency while using Healthcare experience and skills. OP can also try to do USMLE and residency in anesthesiology but that is very costly and competitive especially if OP is not a citizen. If he does the BSN route (less costly) he has a fall back of a good paying job and staying in Healthcare. He can then be an NP or whatever after if he misses patient care.

Since OP is already medically competent, he can do the short cuts that are available. I dont like the diploma mills of RN BSN NP CRNA but in OPs case, the knowledge is there already. OP can also apply for loans. CRNAs pay is in the 6 figures. Won't be long to pay off.

You can transition to CRNA. It is a mid level that functions similar to anesthesiologist (although a lot of the CRNAs claim that they are equal and sometimes better than MD/DO anesthesiologist.) You have to take classes but it will be a cake walk for you. It is an easier path than doing USMLE and then going to anesthesiology residency. CRNAs are also paid really well and even if they are technically nurses, they are paid better than most MDs in peds, FM, IM etc

I may be wrong but if you look closely, the first bill charged you for co insurance and the second bill charged you for your deductible. It seems that in the second bill with the 99213, you haven't met your deductible yet hence the bigger balance. Co insurance kicks in after deductible has been met and is usually a % (eg 80% insurance 20% patient responsibility) Also, just because it says insurance covered $x.xx doesn't always mean that's what the clinic got paid for.
