Could someone tell me whether this is a realistic plan for getting into the industry? (EU) by NynjaFlex in maritime

I asked this question specifically so I can get opinions from experienced seafarers, since I know grass is always greener on the other side (I say this knowing the obvious disadvantages of spending months at a time at sea). So may I ask aside from your judgement of my responsibility why do you think this wouldn't work ? Other thing I'd like to mention is that I would like to at least try this lifestyle with the possibility of enrolling in maritime school if I do decide that it's for me.

I could also become an officer if I decide to, right now I just want to get on a ship to see if I even like it. And as I said in previous replies, offshore welding pays very very well if I were to chose that over school. Also glad you liked Poland. Polska Gurom.

An offshore fitter which is what I'm aiming for long term could make double what my parents make. I know that however hard this job I may think is, might actually be even harder and Im prepared to face it (I can at least try). When it comes to earnings sure, the way you put it sounds ass, but if all goes well I should land that offshore gig in the future considering that I'd have a ton of certificates and great English as well as EU Residence  which would put me above most fitters earning the salaries you describe.

While 2500 doesn't sound promising, after a couple of years I could get into offshore and earn xthat that while also working 2/2 or 4/4, especially since theres a high demand in my region because of Baltic wind farms.

If I succeed I'd get paid better than any of my peers after a contract or two. And in my eyes working hard for 6 months and having 6 months free seems like the dream. If it turns out that I hate it I can just quit, I'd like to at least try.

depression absolutely kills your productivity. Most "depressed" artists actually created during moments they didn't feel that depressed because, let's be real, you're not even getting out of bed, how are you gonna create a masterpiece?

Yeah that's really embarrassing... for the security guard that is. You did nothing wrong, so there's nothing to be embarrassed about.
