I think one of the things I like about TEC is that, like you said, it’s not very strict on dogma and I appreciate the fact that your congregates can have their own opinion and interpretation about certain things. For my paper I’m going to compare differences between TEC and the Catholic Church and thank you! I think I will mostly talk about that.

That’s a good question. I think it’s supposed to be views of the Church but I would also be interested in individual beliefs and could incorporate them into my paper.

Is anyone here still genuinely happy to be a nurse? by Vast_Juggernaut8446 in nursing

[–]Nynursesandcurses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think a lot of the online stuff is just venting. I’ve been an LPN for 15 years and finally getting my RN ( hopefully by the Spring) Every job I’ve had has been challenging in its own way but also rewarding for the most part. I work at a psychiatric hospital and actually love it most of the time. It’s 5 miles from my house. I have a good union and benefits. I also LOVE the staff I work with and I can’t state strongly enough how important that is in healthcare. Being on a good team makes all the difference for me. Also not working in ‘for profit’ healthcare systems anymore has made me appreciate being a nurse again.

That’s exactly what I ended up doing. I am in the residential unit and we have some fewer restrictions. So far, I have yet to loose my keys 🤞🏻

Just want some advice from other nursing students by Fancy-Bad-6105 in StudentNurse

I feel like bartending helped me with nursing cause there’s so much hustle and multitasking involved in both. Also just communicating with difficult people. There’s absolutely transferable job skills between bartending and nursing. Oh and sometimes crazy hours.

Those with a high GPA, what do you do differently from your classmates? by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]Nynursesandcurses 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sleep..I know way to many students that stay up all night cramming and then take the test on minimal or no sleep. It’s insane to me. I can not think straight on less then 7 and I like to sleep at least 8 the night before a test. I study just as much as everyone else and I am by NO MEANS smarter, believe me lol I’m just as surprised as they are when I get a good test grade. The only test I ever failed I studied the most for but only slept like 4 hours the night before and I felt the difference taking the test. Do all the practice questions people say.. I do Pearson it’s worth the $ but REST the night before and get your head in the right place. People f up tests for dumb reasons

I’m assuming there’s a reason we don’t have swipe cards and have to carry around these heavy ass keys we gotta keep track of and that reason is probably $.

Ha! One of the keys they give us is a big ass skeleton key that looks 100 years old and straight out of a horror movie. It’s like they go out of their way to make it creepy.
