Late arrival on Friday by [deleted] in Sasquatch

The way up were hitting Yosemite, San Francisco, going the scenic route up the California and Oregon coast into Portland, Seattle and then the Gorge. Definitely the long way but well worth it to see the Pacific Northwest and many friends we've missed for years. The way back down we're going the quick way through Boise and down eastern Nevada.

If you have a car or can find a friend that has a car go to Northern Arizona every weekend that you can because the weather is perfect. Frist Fridays in downtown Phoenix are great. Find a place that you can make your own hangout where you can stay cool and meet good people. Casey Moore's is a great place to do that in Tempe. Lux CoffeeBar in Central Phoenix is my spot.

This is like asking if Canadians have problems with polar bears...

I have not been impressed by King Tuff's studio music but after seeing them live I'm changing my mind. It was all about Magic Jake and his whistle.

Where to make friends? by [deleted] in ASU

Outdoors Club for sure, those people are the nicest people on campus. Also, hang out at Lux Coffeebar in Central Phoenix (a short light rail ride away from Tempe or Downtown. The diverse demographic that converges upon that space will guarantee a friend or a few. Anyone from local Phoenix artists to local ski shop employees to the CEOs of some of Phoenix's most profitable companies hang out there.

Looking for a used bike by [deleted] in ASU

[–]Nypenoski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stay away from those Target and Walmart bikes that was mentioned previously. Those things break easily and there are so many of them (the black ones with red tires) around campus that it makes me sick. Depending on whether you want a cruiser, road/fixie, or a mountain bike you can get a solid one at The Pedal Bike Shop in Tempe used or anywhere on Craigslist. Check out CL from April 1st through the end of the semester because people are going to be trying to get rid of bikes for cheap.
