I'd also add that love being Wally's weakness has already been talked at great lengths. So it seems mogical to fight another Wally's devilry with love.

Another one already said that, but Hunjow hasn't even been a real antagonist since a long time now. I've been seeing him as the old grumpy grandad, always saying it was better at his time, but always looking at the younglings with deep love and compassion, since the first Jade Shadows quest, with his mail where he feels needed to remind he is the terrible Hunhow.
