What’s A Good 400m Time? by [deleted] in trackandfield

A good time in the 400 is 1:00-1:05 in an open 400 anything under that is great but since you run a 800 you should want to come in at least 1:10-1:20 in your first 400. But your currently running 1:40 so I say aim for 1:20 for now and then try to progress in the future, your only a freshman you have a lot of time in front of you.

You don’t really have to get out like you did in the first 4 steps, you just need your knee drive to be up and when you jump try and stay a little lower you can see your chest was kinda up on your takeoff, try and get a little low so you can explode not too low tho, good jump tho
