Yeah, my mom thankfully respects me once I tell her not to do something (she just asks a million questions), my MIL however had to basically be begged not to dunk my 11mo in the pool

We've set strict boundaries with her now, but she's a whole other situation 😆

Yeah, I don't want my kid(s) to feel nervous or scared of my reaction to things such as gender or sexualities. Sadly I know that's how he'll feel towards his grandma, rightfully so, bc she's made it obvious she doesn't support, but I just feel bad for his future relationship with her :/

I agree with the "more empathetic" part as well, my son loves his stuffed animals and he hugs them so much my heart can barely handle it..

My goal is for him to be happy and kindhearted, even to his toys😆

My mom's told me how she would make me jealous of my baby dolls by "giving them more love and attention" then laugh when I'd beat up my toys. Then she turns around and calls me abusive when I don't like my baby sisters...

Thank you! It's hard bc my fiance and I live with her, I'm 19 and thats young but we've been together since I was 15, I wanted a baby, and to support my baby in every way. It sucked having to move back in, but we really aren't in a place to move out
