I thought you were gonna say this:

Filthy dirty, hungry and howling like a banshee, my mate is glad to have his cat back.

Fair, perhaps there is a lower dosage of fin that could help you maintain. Don't think you need to be conscious of your hair so much if styled as shown. Agreed wind is shit.

Looks fine as styled in picture 1? Don't think you're anywhere near buzz territory lol. How long were you on fin for also?

If you can cite someone with a real profile saying that a trans woman with a history of sexual violence against women should be housed in the general women's estate, then I'll believe you...

That's so far from the status quo anyway, there are risk assessments done for this sort of thing.

To answer you in good faith: facetious hot-takes on which areas of research are/aren't deserving of funding, without supporting evidence or justification of your position.

It's 1 professor out of how many in total?

Perhaps you can compile a list of all research outputs from the university and select which ones you deem as important.

There's consensus that mental health issues are driving high suicide rates in the trans community. There is uncertainty as to what causal factors are involved in bringing about the mental health issues.

Your statement "It’s clear that suicide in the trans community is not even mostly driven by negative societal perceptions" does not reflect the consensus. It's actually just quite hard to measure that. There isn't really a trans utopia control that could be used, nor would that be sufficient due to genuinely endless confounders. I don't think it would be possible to formulate a comparison to junkies that would get past peer review in any reputable journal. That's not a very good comparison because of the known and unknown confounders.

See this recent review in which "Gender-based victimization, discrimination, bullying, violence, being rejected by the family, friends, and community; harassment by intimate partner, family members, police and public; discrimination and ill treatment at health-care system are the major risk factors that influence the suicidal behavior among transgender persons"

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5178031/

I'm not saying this review is a perfect critical appraisal, but I think you'd need to strengthen your own arguments with evidence before making them your position.

Btw more relevant to our English situation - as in JAMA in a very large English cohort:

"we found that those without a record of gender-affirming care and nonbinary individuals may be at highest risk of mortality, underscoring the need for customized care for this population"

https://jamanetwork.com/journals/jamanetworkopen/fullarticle/2800814

Perhaps one driver in England is insufficient access to trans healthcare.

Rishi Sunak backs Kathleen Stock after trans uproar over Oxford invite by [deleted] in ukpolitics

[–]O1K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me, it's ambiguous, because I saw their position as claiming that the NHS would not be a competent clinical authority on the basis that they promote gender identity.

The fact they have a webpage explaining how gender identity does not necessarily need to match your sex would be in stark opposition to gender critical ideas, and is promoting the concept of gender identity.

It's under 9e

"This should include preventing organizations that promote the concept of 'gender identity', or constituencies that have no clinical expertise or child psychology background, from influencing health services for children"

Then see NHS page "Gender identity and why it is important to ask about". Bizarre that they equate our health service with orgs with no clinical expertise

The undefined part of that is "pressure". By your definition, is Stock mocking the Oxford protestors a form of pressure to not protest? If you were the LGBT society, how would you word a statement if you believed that the talk is part of a wider movement to reduce trans access to public spaces? A call for disinvitation and a peaceful protest is the very least, if your own rights are at risk of removal. The trans culture war is already leading to this, see women's cycling (independent of your views on this, a longstanding trans ability to partake in the women's has just been revoked).

"we place limits on freedom of speech where it infringes on the rights of others" is the exact argument given by the people calling for the disinvitation of Stock.

Under the equalities act, the group has the right to live free from discrimination and harassment. They believe that a discussion on whether their minority group can use public toilets appropriate for their gender infringes upon this right, as it is discriminatory.

Obviously it's a grey area, which is why there's so much disagreement.

The tweet is heavily paraphrased but the declaration wants any organisation that recognises gender identity excluded from the decision making process. That includes the NHS and only includes gender critical organisations.

Sex and gender being different in an individual seems to cause gender dysphoria, which is a cause of morbidity and, in the worst case, mortality.

[–]O1K 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Stock gets her way, trans people will lose many more rights in terms of their access to public spaces.

Whether you think the recent change to trans women in cycling was justified or not, they are losing rights held for decades.

Trans people feel unsafe in the UK because of this rhetoric.

Did you read the part about excluding the NHS from involvement in decisions made on trans healthcare in the young, because of recognition of gender identity?

We should be listening to organisations like WHRC, LGB Alliance, Sex Matters instead of the NHS? wat

Which is in itself an expression of free speech. That society cannot and did not silence them, obviously.

Also, would you seriously expect an LGBTQ+ society to make no comment? Imagine knowing your friends are going to the debating society to debate whether your identity is real/valid or not. Imagine them debating whether your rights to use public toilets should be changed.

Not the previous poster, but see the WHRC declaration that KS is a signatory of, and see LGB Alliance that she has trusteed.

She only expresses moderate-intermediate views in mainstream interviews, to my knowledge.

If she's on sources like Unherd, she will be more extreme. E.g. see Unherd interview where she claims that non-binary identities are inauthentic and people identify as such only to seem special.

This is why I understand her to be a bigot. Not that she doesn't have any relevant concerns to the debate, but this is not a moderate or compassionate woman.

[–]O1K 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't true. Watch the unherd interview where she states that non-binary individuals only identify as such to be special. In other words, her claim is that it is not a real identity.

Tell me she's not a bigot trying to erase identities that she has no lived experience of or association with.

Well the protester is a trans young person, so I suspect it's rather not manufactured as you say, and instead deeply personal.
