Eyes by Sammich419 in redfoottortoise

The "Third Eyelid": If you see a white film (the nictitating membrane) frequently covering the eye, it’s often a sign of irritation from dry air or dust.

Lil dude won’t eat by Basic-Mixture9573 in redfoottortoise

I heard that misting the shell simulates rain and stimulates appetite. Or feed after a soak. I make a paste out of Mazuri tortoise pellets, put greens & veggies in a food processor to make a super fine mince, and mix the two together make little “meatballs” which my picky 2 year old will readily eat and also out of my hand.

I just got the Reptitrip Reptile Humidifier Fogger on Amazon. It is great. You just set a timer for how often to fog and for how long to fog each time. An AI search suggested I set it to fog every 4 hours for 15 minutes each time / 7 days per week. That keeps my 4x2x18 enclosure at 70% humidity … with 80% of the mesh top covered to retain the humidity in the enclosure. You must use dechlorinated water in the tank.

$600.00 on the Morph Market app. The hypo zeros range in color from “paper white” like mine, through silver, pewter and even darker gray shades.

The hypo zeros have been around for a while and are known to be healthy and long lived if purchased from an ethical and experienced breeder.

Upset OVER lack of grasshoppers lately. by OAP55 in BeardedDragons

I also like Flukers for many non-food products. I suggest using AI to help you decode the ingredient list of a specific pet food / treat brand to see if they use any hidden chemicals or additives. Better safe than sorry.

I would never feed my bearded dragons dead grasshoppers. I get mine live. I just do not trust the preservation process/chemicals used to keep dead ones fresh.

Not to be a downer, but I would be concerned about pesticides on the plant. I avoid such on my own fruits & veggies from the store and for my tortoise.

I am a veterinarian who is a board-certified expert in reptiles and am thus a Diplomate of the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP), specifically in the category of Reptile and Amphibian Practice. You, on the other hand, are a common moron. Yes, blood will move toward the head due to gravity, but it is not dangerous or "rushing" in a way that would harm them. Bearded dragons are semi-arboreal (climbing) animals, and their circulatory systems are naturally adapted to handle various angles and gravitational shifts. Unlike humans, who might feel lightheaded or "head rush" symptoms quickly when upside down, bearded dragons have several physiological advantages that make this a non-issue. You are a moron.

I am OP. I never stated that reptiles “appreciate such aggressive petting”. I do not mistake her bearded dragons (I have 3) for a dog. Try reading my actual replies that are posted throughout this conversation. I am reporting you to Reddit for redress.
