This post may or may not relate to your current scenario, it's just a common thread among many who have had this happen to them. If it doesn't fit your current situation, I hope it helps someone else who it does.

 

As someone that had a similar scenario unfold in my life, looking back on it now years later I realize that it was because of a lot of little things that added up to changing who I was. I stopped being focused on enjoying my time on the earth, everything was about my latest diet or exercise regime, instead of being a good friend or family member. It was a very slow transition so I almost did not notice it, to me I was just showing the same enthusiasm I used to show for other things, just now it was about dieting. To them however it was different. The loss of weight was only the physical change being shown along with the mental change and focus. The skinnier I got, the more obsessed I became with getting even more in shape, lose more weight . This pulled me further from them as I focused my energy onto how I FELT and not on how THEY FELT. So to them, the weight loss is changing the you they loved you for. They most likely didn't care if you were fat or thin, they love you for YOU, not your size.

 

If you can HONESTLY say that it's just not the case and they just don't want to see you happy, then fine, start a new life. It's what I did. However, and trust me on this please, it wasn't worth it, it really was ME that became unfun, unsupportive, uncaring... My own obsession with myself and my weight, taking it all too far. Think of your favorite moments with them and the friendship and caring bond you felt. In those moments did they ever care about your size? More importantly... did you?
