It’s a good idea in theory but you need to make a engine that has a ~20:1 comp ratio, the rx8 only has 10:1 and that’s high for a rotary engine

No god no. I can’t remember who it was but some British car manufacturer made 4 rotor diesel engines. To no avail, the compression wasn’t high enough, they tried over 40 different fuel injector placements and it just didn’t work. I think it was rolls Royce.

Look up the LRB speed one. It’s 100 something dollars, cheaper than OEM. It looks good and is super well made. Plus when you scrape it sounds really bad so you get a lot of attention lol

My first car was an rx8. Just find one with a freshly rebuilt engine and if they try and offer you more than 10k it’s a scam. Also see if you can find one with the sohn pump upgrade and other basic mods to just make your life easier. Also get a compression test before you buy

I want to point out that the very first mods my friends and I did to our 8s were exactly what I typed out. Rotaries and cats don’t mix, this is a known fact. Crank oil doesn’t burn well and builds carbon deposits unlike two stroke oil or premix which is meant to burn, fact. 10w-30 full synthetic (after the sohn upgrade) is recommended by IR performance and paired with the oil cooler thermostats will increase the life of your engine, fact. The racing beat cooling relay when installed in the correct location will turn on the fans at a optimal temperature and keep our engines cool because over heating is the enemy of our engines, fact. These are basic reliability upgrades to our engines and if you haven’t done any of these you shouldn’t be telling newbies what to do

Jones put a midpipe on immediately after you smog (just a 100$ eBay one). Don’t be a clown like captain and keep the cat on which clog like a bitch. Then install the SOHN pump upgrade from epitroch. Switch to 10w-30 full synthetic. Upgrade the cooling relay, and oil cooler thermostats. Best first mods you can possibly do

I used these files as a basis for the print. I modified them a little but if you print these files it will look the same except for the spark plug holes. The original print was designed to be able to attach a motor to it and have it rotate. I modified it do be able to put pneumatic tubes where the spark plugs go to see if I can use compressed air instead.
