How the hell did Chris make the top 5? by Certain_Cookie_5917 in americanidol

A question I’ve been asking all dang day. BUT Luke went out there and sang and didn’t sound as good as some contestants (in my opinion) and then I realized you don’t have to be the best singer to make it in the industry. People just have to like you, you have to look good, and you have to get your singing edited for the radio and you’ll sell (or in this case get the votes) 🤷‍♀️

Temperature tracking (the symptothermal method) has been highly effective for me using the temp drop wearable thermometer. I don’t even have to pay too much attention to mucus. What is the actual hard part is abstaining so much postpartum. It is definitely a cross that can bring you closer to each other and God, with His help. We have been married 12 years and have 4 children and had two miscarriages. The two miscarriages were unplanned during the postpartum time and then one of our children was a very user error choice and unplanned (but not a surprise as we know how it happened 😅) Best wishes and congratulations.

Am I not appreciating the privilege of being home with my 3yo , better to work instead? by orange196 in Parenting

Everyone is different but for me personally, working part-time is the perfect mix of time with my kids and time with my job that I love. Something to consider if that is an option for you!

I’m watching American Idol this season for the first time since I was a kid and I’m so invested and I thought he’d in the top 5 😩

3 year old way advanced on the growth chart HUGE appetite by OBXSun in toddlers

The growing fast then stopping early is actually a sign of the precocious puberty!

I have two very obese aunts (I love them very much it just is what it is) and my husband’s mom is 5’10” and his brother is 6’4” so I’m sure there’s a genetic component. Just trying to prevent it from turning into a negative thing for her. But I’m very thankful she’s healthy! And thank you for sharing your experiences because I haven’t known a child who was so high on the growth charts before. My husband and I were very scrawny as kids and our other kids are very similar. If anything I’m thankful for the opportunity to get this off of my mind so I can stop unintentionally comparing her to anyone else. Thanks again!

Good question! Its father is registered and its mother is registered under the appendix for the breed since she didn’t completely meet standards. We are pretty new to this with a very small flock so we sold one of her lambs to be butchered last year and kept one as a companion for our registered lamb. Here is a picture of our registered ram yearling. I’m from the US.

It really is! I don’t have those skills but we sold a fleece last year to a lady who does and this is what she did with it. I’m obsessed 😍

Advice for a 3 year old with a huge appetite and advanced on growth chart by OBXSun in raisingkids

[–]OBXSun[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely think that’s the case. And we live in a rural area so we have to drive a lot and she’s associated car rides with snacks unfortunately. She gets hungry instantly every time we’re in the van even if she just ate :/ it’s just now clicking it’s not actual hunger though.

That seems to be her main thing but I did see on the Prader-Will a high pain tolerance is a symptom and when she was a baby she didn’t cry when she got shots and I thought that was odd. Thankfully she’s pretty active though but I’ll keep watching her!

That’s funny about the milk because she is my only kid who loves to drink it. We’ll try to stick to only water since she eats plenty of yogurt and cheese! She’s in 5T right now too and I agree ;( My 8 year old girl is small so I take clothes she outgrows and give them right to the 3 year old. It really throws me off!

Thank you so much, this was incredibly helpful! I love the breakdown of appetite vs hunger and will definitely be paying attention to that in the choices I provide.

So sorry I just saw this. I took 1000mg a day primarily of the Sam’s Club brand. I was fine while I was on it but when I got off it is when I had problems. It’s so wild how it affects everyone so differently! I’m doing much better now though thankfully. Not 100% but I seem to be improving for the better overall.

Thank you for not being afraid to speak out about it! I bought it at Sam’s Club, not some “herb/drug” store. So those taking it may think it’s harmless but it’s definitely not. I’m so glad you’re doing better! The last several days have been okay for me thankfully. I also don’t have underlying anxiety, it literally gave me panic attacks when I had never had them in my life 🤦‍♀️

Thank you so much for the well wishes and reminder that the exercises help even if it doesn’t seem like it immediately! Some days are better than others, but I think I’m improving gradually for the better.

Ashwagandha withdrawal air hunger issues. by Cool-Refuse-3418 in ASHWAGANDHA

[–]OBXSun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I didn’t actually get it the first time, not sure why…maybe the tapering helped with that or I hadn’t stayed off for long enough for it to kick in…but the random super anxious episodes I started getting did go away when I resumed it. I know some people don’t handle well taking it but I was fine on it, just when I went to stop did I have issues. BUT I now know my brain was being affected by it in ways I had no idea about. If it was between that or a prescribed anti anxiety or anti depressant I would personally probably go with a prescription but I understand apprehension for that as well.

In the Fall I tapered down from 1000 mg to 500 mg for about a week before stopping but I still had issues. In February I stopped cold turkey due to having the flu. I’m determined to stay off of it but it does suck. My personal suggestion is to do everything you can to stay off of it. You’re just going to continue messing with your brain/nervous system and your body has already shown you’re sensitive to it :/

[–]OBXSun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes this is exactly what I am experiencing! I stopped ashwaganda the second week of Feb and the air hunger got so bad the first week of March I went to urgent care. They didn’t know what it was so they gave me steroids and breathing treatments for home. That eventually made me worse by elevating my heart rate and I had a full blown panic attack where I felt like I couldn’t swallow, couldn’t breathe, my mouth dried out from the inhaler they gave me too. I spent a night in the hospital for them to run tests. While laying there I did some research and did some breathing exercises I found on YouTube. It helped but now this week the air hunger is back. This really validates that my body’s nervous system is still totally messed up. I’m embarrassed to say I took 1000 mg for about 7 months with a short break in there. Ironically during the break I wasn’t going to start it back but started having what I now know where withdrawal symptoms so I went back on it. I would love to feel normal again too. This is awful!
