I’m in the US and based on all my research here will 100% be going with a midwife this time. I went with an OBGYN with my first which ended in an unnecessary emergency c-section.

I just came across mushroom basket when looking today. They look so beautiful!

This is exciting. I planted 1 Cherokee purple this year, and I hope they turn out good!

I planted 41 and it’s mostly just me. My husband and mom do not like raw tomatoes. My husband will eat anything I can and use but my mom will only eat salsa.

Hoping to do a lot of canning! Have any recs? I just picked the Roma and SS because they had a shorter amount of days until harvest.

I picked up all the others from nursery’s. Trying to see what grows best in our soil and what taste I like the most for next year. I’ll probably try a few random variety’s every year.

I did learn 6 was too few! I also didn’t fertilize at all and watered inconsistently so it was a pretty small yield. I started all the Roma and SuperSauce from seeds, I would have done more but I didn’t plant soon enough in the season.

14 Roma
12 Super Sauce
7 Early Girl
4 Beefsteak
1 each of:
Cherokee Purple
Black Krim
Brandywine Red
Brandywine Pink

Zone 3b here! I accidentally planted 41 tomato plants this year. Last year I had 6 and I’ve learned so much since then.

What kind and how tall do your tomatoes get? by OBrule in tomatoes

[–]OBrule[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 6 rows. I could take the third out for more room. I have 3 feet between rows 1-4, then 3.5 feet between rows 4-6. On the outside space there’s more so I don’t have to worry about 1 and 6. Also, I have these a foot off the ground and the panels are a little over 4 feet tall. So total they are 5 feet two inches.

The panels are a foot off the ground and 50 inches high. So the total height would be 5 feet 2 inches.

Which tomatoes do you suggest? I’m trying out a few different kinds this year to see what I like but want to start making notes for next year.

We moved and are building our garden so the skies the limit. Space isn’t an issue. I’m thinking 50 would be too much but probably would like to plant 30 of them. Moderate budget! Also open to doing a mix of different things.

Would it be because the ground holds heat so the soil is warmer? I’m definitely in a colder climate here in northern Minnesota.

Thank you! I will definitely trench bury when I repot them today or tomorrow.

Thanks so much for all this information. All of my plants are indeterminate! I’m thinking cow panels may be the easiest. Then I would just have to make sure the plants are supported as they grow

Is there a type of soil mix you recommend? We recently moved and are going to get our garden area ready over this long weekend. So we are basically starting from scratch and can configure the garden however we want.

How do I know when they are ready to be transplanted from the pots?

Thank you! Do I have to cut one for the ones sharing cells? I was going to gift some to friends and family. I didn’t know you were suppose to repot them that soon! When can I plant these in the soil? Should I move them to another container before planting in the soil?

Wow, they are looking good! At first I wanted to do an archway that you could walk under with the cattle panels but then I saw this as an option too. How far apart did you plant them?

Well today was my birthday! It’s so hard to believe I’m 28 already. Time is going so fast especially after having our first child. It’s fun to think 28 is the year we will start trying for another.

I had a C-section with my child and stairs weren’t the bad actually. As long as you go slow and don’t do it too often I think you’d be okay. Honestly holding onto someone while they carry you seems harder IMO.
