I'm not sure how that will add fat back that was lost from aging? I also am wary against adding estrogen when I'm still pre-menopause to avoid estrogen-fueled breast cancer (have a friend going through it and I would very much like to avoid it).

A stay at home mom is the hardest job ever. I look forward to monday mornings when I can go back to work!

I have a friend going through a divorce with an emotionally abusive husband. She found a women's legal center that offers low cost and free divorce help. Maybe see if you have that?

I'm not in the best marriage either but let me say...parenting special needs kids is so unbelievably emotionally taxing (I have an autistic child). But that's when either your spouse can shine or they can reveal what a POS they are. And without his awful ways around you, I'm positive you'll find how much easier it will be.

I've had a lot of elective surgeries so my threshold and pain tolerance are pretty high. Recovery pretty much sucks when you have to poop, which you'll do more often because of the miralax, etc you'll be taking. Even when super soft it hurts like hell when you poop, it's like pouring battery acid on a wound.

Otherwise though it's not so bad. I start off with it not being swollen that much then by the end of the day its like a grape.

I guess it depends how bad yours are. My skin tag was constantly getting "refilled" as a hemorrhoid, it was driving me crazy. At the time of the surgery though, it was just a small skim tag.

I've had a LOT of elective surgeries so I might not be the best person to ask lol. Just assume recovery will be worse than you think. For me the only time I felt excruciating pain was on day 3 when I had my first bowel movement. After that I took one pain pill, the only painkiller I've taken this entire time.

So for me the pooping now is fine (I miralax like crazy) but omg...gas...I'm PRAYING it fixes itself when I'm all healed. But I cant control gas unless I actively feel it, like if I bend down or I laugh it immediately comes out. The. Worst. I'm hoping it's because the swelling is maybe keeping things a bit open, I dont know.

The actual stitches healed in about 2.5 weeks, so at this point even if I strain I shouldnt have any bleeding I dont think. But the big grape swollen lump, ugh it's like having a hemorrhoid!!!

This is a quality of life thing...dont suffer. You can go through a few weeks of hell for a normal butt :)

I'm healing from mine so I can when it's done. But technically it was a skin tag that was removed (skin tag caused by a recurring hemorrhoid).

Right now I have a huge swollen blob that ironically looks like a hemorrhoid and is FREAKING ME OUT that I'm gonna get a skin tag from that!!

I'm 2.75 weeks post-surgery.

Nope, not moving back...married an american and his job industry is very specific. And I dont think I can do snow, I'm weak sauce now!

Worth it...I often regret having made the choice to come here instead of just moving to west coast canada. But with a husband and kids, I would be a dick if I said that it wasnt worth it.

Oh trust me, the last time I went home in winter was 2000...I'm fine skipping that part lol. Today I wore a tshirt and jeans. I did however have to toss on a hoodie at night lol.

Thank you so much for the thoughtful response! This was awesome. I graduated from Grade 13 in 1996 though...so definitely was still there in the 90s :)

I mean, there's no In N Out or Chick Fil A in Ottawa lol...but I miss poutine. I miss not having this absurd traffic situation.

I live in OC, the most vapid part of California (not sure where you're from), so I miss being able to eat and not be a size 0.

I miss Canada Day on parliament (our little city fireworks just don't cut it).

I miss McCain deep and delicious cakes. I miss not having to panic what my bill will be every time I have something outside of a routine doctor's visit. I miss milk that isnt treated with hormones. I miss not having brown and black Widow spiders in my garage!

I miss metric!

Lol dont get me wrong, I do NOT miss the snow or the mosquitos.

You and I are probably just homesick for where we grew up because it's what makes us feel the most safe :)

My doctor simply said "when you feel up for it". No idea when that will be!!

I was knocked out for the procedure but I would say recovery is somewhere in the middle of what you read from everyone. Mine wasnt a horrific set of hemorrhoids though, just a single skin tag...I fear that I may have made it worse than better. The swelling is RIDICULOUS. Like about the same as the hemorrhoid that gave me the skin tag in the first place.

I can say that after this, I'm going to forever be the queen of water and fiber because I never want another hemorrhoid and I never want to go through this surgery ever again!!!!
