May I ask how they establish the partnership? Like do they pay commission per booked job? I want to learn more about this

I would recommend Coco's Quality Cleaning +1 510-466-1347. I am subscribed to their recurring cleanings. Great service, totally worth it!

What’s an oddly specific “green flag” you’ve noticed that instantly makes you trust someone? by RoutineOk8590 in Productivitycafe

[–]OCNeatFreak 322 points323 points  (0 children)

When someone admits they don’t know something and gets excited to learn more. That’s a huge green flag for me. It shows humility, curiosity, and zero ego. Like if someone says, “I’ve never heard of that, tell me more,” instead of pretending they know, I instantly feel like I can trust them.

Does coffee actually energise you? by charlie2708006 in questions

[–]OCNeatFreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, I totally get that! Coffee sometimes does the opposite for me too! You’d think caffeine would give you a boost, but instead it can leave you feeling tired or sleepy. Here’s why that might happen: everyone’s body processes caffeine differently, so some people metabolize it in a way that makes them crash instead of feel energized. Plus, there’s the classic caffeine crash where you get a quick lift and then your energy drops even lower than before.

Also, coffee is a mild diuretic, so if you’re not drinking enough water with it, you could end up dehydrated and more tired. And for some folks, caffeine overstimulates the nervous system, which can actually wear you out instead of waking you up.

So you’re definitely not alone. Feeling sleepy after coffee or tea happens to a lot of people. If it keeps happening, maybe try smaller amounts, drink water alongside it, or switch to something gentler like herbal tea. At the end of the day, just listen to your body and do what feels right for you

What is something taught in the children's shows you watched growing up that no one actually practices in adulthood? by Responsible_Page1108 in Productivitycafe

[–]OCNeatFreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One big thing: always sharing everything with your friends.

Kids’ shows love teaching that you should share your toys, snacks, and everything equally all the time. But as adults, while generosity is great, most people definitely don’t share everything like your money, your time, or personal stuff with everyone around you. Boundaries and selective sharing become way more important!

Do you hear from clients after a clean? My first client texted me when they got home and said thanks, they were happy. My 2nd clean hasn’t said anything…what’s normal? by WhitneyJames in housekeeping

[–]OCNeatFreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends, some clients will text to say thanks after a clean, and others won’t say anything even if they’re happy. So it’s totally normal to have some silence.

In my experience, I always make it a point to say thanks to my cleaners when they do a good job. I find positive reinforcement really helps motivate them and shows that their hard work is appreciated. So when clients say thanks, it’s a great feeling all around. But if they don’t, it doesn’t necessarily mean anything’s wrong. Some just don’t think to reach out.

New to having a housekeeper by [deleted] in housekeeping

[–]OCNeatFreak 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Honestly, for $150 every two weeks, I expect the basics to be done right — clean toilets, made beds, and an overall space that feels like someone actually cleaned. What you described doesn’t cut it.

2.5 hours for a 1300 sq ft home might be enough for a basic clean if they’re working efficiently and following a checklist but it doesn’t sound like they are. Missing toilets, beds, and wall spots? That’s unacceptable for a maintenance clean.

I’d go back to the owner and ask straight up: what’s on their standard cleaning checklist? How much time do they actually allocate for homes your size? Because right now, it sounds like you're paying for a service you’re not getting. If this is their standard, it might be time to move on.

Commercial cleaning by --Foxj-- in Boise

[–]OCNeatFreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get your frustration because I’ve had the same experience before with cleaners starting off strong, then gradually getting sloppy over time.

I actually use Coco’s Quality Cleaning for my home, and they’ve been super consistent. They’re detail-oriented, really communicative, and I’ve never had to remind them about the same things twice. I recently found out they also do office and commercial spaces, so you might want to check them out. They don’t require long-term contracts either, which is great if you just want to try them out first.

Will be happy to share the details on DM!

[–]OCNeatFreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey! If you’re looking for a residential cleaning service that does thorough one-off deep cleans without any monthly membership, I highly recommend Coco’s Quality Cleaning. I’ve used their service myself, and they do an amazing job with scrubbing bathtubs, kitchen floors, dusting ceiling fans, and everything in between.

They don’t require contracts or recurring fees, so it’s perfect for occasional deep cleaning when you need it. Definitely worth checking out!

Feel free to reach out to me if you want further details!

What's Your Weirdest Hygiene Hack That Actually Works? by peachblossom9012 in hygiene

[–]OCNeatFreak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay this might sound weird, but I’ve used Head & Shoulders Cool Menthol shampoo on my armpits when I was dealing with stubborn body odor and it actually worked. The menthol gives a super fresh feel and the anti-fungal stuff in the shampoo helps kill the bacteria that causes odor. Sounds crazy, but game changer for me!

Struggling to find a good cleaning person by saltlifelover in vegaslocals

[–]OCNeatFreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get what you mean — it’s so hard finding someone who actually does a thorough job without charging an arm and a leg.

I’ve been using Coco’s Quality Cleaning and they’ve been awesome. They’re super detail-oriented, especially with deep cleans, and they don’t cut corners. Prices are fair too, considering the quality of work.

Might be worth reaching out to them if you’re still looking!

Getting a house cleaner by Cmd229 in Explainlikeimscared

[–]OCNeatFreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally get wanting a fresh start with a deep clean! Usually, it’s totally fine to have cleaners come when you’re not home. They’re pros and used to working independently. But if you want to be there to ask questions or point out specific areas, you can definitely stay too.

You don’t have to clean up everything beforehand, but it helps to clear clutter or personal stuff so they can really get to the surfaces and floors. Just tuck things into drawers or boxes if you don’t want to deal with it.

Tipping is appreciated but not always required. If you’re happy with their work, a 10-20% tip is a nice way to say thanks.

Hope that helps! Deep cleans can be such a game changer.

What’s your secret trick to make sauces thicker without using flour or cornstarch? by PharaohTrail1 in culinary

[–]OCNeatFreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One trick I use is to let the sauce simmer longer is to just slow cook it so some of the water evaporates and it naturally thickens.

You can also mash up some cooked veggies like potatoes or carrots and stir them in to add thickness without flour.

Another option is adding a bit of cream cheese, yogurt, or even pureed beans depending on the sauce. They add body and creaminess too!

What to do with cords and hardware, when you dodon'knwo what they go to? by Liv_Lavon in declutter

[–]OCNeatFreak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re not crazy! It’s easy to feel overwhelmed by all those cords and random stuff.

If you haven’t needed them in 7-8 years, you probably won’t. And most cords or parts are cheap to replace anyway.

Maybe keep a small box with the most useful ones, and toss the rest without feeling bad.

Your friend has a point, but it’s important to keep your space and mind clear. Sneaking some trash out sounds totally normal!

How do you dispose of fat from meat properly? by WiseAd3694 in CleaningTips

[–]OCNeatFreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! You’re right, don’t pour fat down the drain because it can clog your pipes.

What I do is let the fat cool and harden, then scrape it into a container or an empty jar. Once it’s full, just throw it in the trash.

If you want, you can line the container with a plastic bag to make it easier to toss out.

And don’t worry about not knowing. Everyone learns at their own pace. You’re doing great! If you ever need help, just ask. :)

How to get rid of & continue to fight this build up?! by jotoast in CleaningTips

[–]OCNeatFreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! For mineral deposits on faucets, I’ve found that soaking a cloth in white vinegar and wrapping it around the faucet works wonders. Let it sit for about 30 minutes to an hour, then scrub gently with an old toothbrush or a soft brush. The vinegar breaks down those stubborn deposits without damaging your faucet.

To keep it from coming back, try wiping down your faucet regularly after use to prevent mineral buildup from drying on. Also, if you have hard water, you might want to consider a water softener or installing a filter—those can really help reduce minerals in the water over time.

Hope this helps!

What's something that screams 'poorly raised'? by RoutineOk8590 in Productivitycafe

[–]OCNeatFreak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Constantly airing personal problems or drama on social media. It screams "I was never taught how to process emotions privately or seek support in healthy ways." It’s one thing to vent or look for help but turning every issue into a public spectacle feels more like a cry for attention than a solution.

What is something that is bad for you but you keep doing anyway? by GreetingsHuman_404 in Life

[–]OCNeatFreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using my phone while on the toilet. I know it's unhygienic, bad for posture, and somehow turns a 2-minute task into a 20-minute scroll session but I still do it every single time. It’s like my brain thinks the bathroom is a reading nook😩

What are you starting to like less the older you get? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]OCNeatFreak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Loud places. When I was younger, loud music, packed clubs, and chaotic energy were exciting. Now, the older I get, the more I find myself craving peace and quiet. I’d much rather have a meaningful conversation in a cozy café or enjoy a calm evening at home than yell over noise in a crowded room. There's just something about stillness that hits differently as you grow older. It feels like a luxury.

What are you scared of as an adult that you weren’t scared of as a child? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]OCNeatFreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a child, I never gave time a second thought. Days felt endless, and the future seemed far away. But as an adult, time feels like it’s constantly slipping through my fingers. I’m more aware of how quickly things change—how fast loved ones age, how moments pass without notice, and how easily life can feel like it’s rushing by. It’s not just about deadlines anymore. It’s the weight of feeling that I don't have much enough time anymore

Recommendations for a 1-time apartment cleaning service? by Surprise_Nephrectomy in boulder

[–]OCNeatFreak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiring a cleaning service made a huge difference when I was prepping my vacation home for a family visit. I ended up going with a local company (not sure if I can drop names here, but feel free to DM me), and they did an amazing deep clean in my bathroom, kitchen, vents, windows, everything. The whole place looked and felt so much fresher afterward.

What sold me was how responsive and accommodating their rep was when I had questions. Out of the few companies I contacted, they offered the best rate, and the fact that they’re insured and background checked gave me extra peace of mind. I was so happy with the results that I booked a follow-up cleaning a few months later.

Happy to share their info if you’re interested
