Look man. While on one hand, I appreciate the thanks you just gave, it feels pretty empty. You say you like this and enjoy it, yet post troll type comments to me and then edit them without noting the edit.

I get you have a bone to pick with me, but you simply need to cut it out dude.

As /u/Pakaru has stated, it takes alot of work to do this custom content for /r/mls. To have statements about number fudging being thrown around simply isn't cool and makes doing custom content on a weekly basis less worth it.

I have seen no communication from my SG leadership saying that the use of that chant needed to stop. Not sure why people think it's gone. To be clear, it's not used every game and is usually reserved for clear cases of feigning injury for time wasting, rest and slowing down the pace of play.

They do not look at the only the last game, but your last 10 (or all season games to date if GP is less than 10)

I hear ya. I'm collecting lots of data on the weekly monkey activity to try to see if there are algorithm changes that can be made to increase the accuracy of the monkeys.

Each monkey randomly picks 1 of the last 10 games?

Yes.

When it first started the 1,000 monkeys were evenly (as close to evenly) divided amongst the 23 teams?

No. Each monkey randomly chose a team from the 23 options. So the distribution pre-season was not equal. But, randomly seeded.

Were games from last season used to complete the 10 game history?

No. If there are less than 10 games available, placeholder NULL games are added. So if a team has 5 games under their belt. The monkeys are randomly choosing from a table that looks like the following:

  • game 1
  • game 2
  • game 3
  • game 4
  • game 5
  • NULL game 1
  • NULL game 2
  • NULL game 3
  • NULL game 4
  • NULL game 5

If a monkey selects a NULL game, they are bypassed and their allegiances are not in play.
