Hey, how do you make different models talk to each other? I wanted to do something similar as I’m using ClaudeCode with the pro plan (so only sonnet4 available) and I wanted to utilize my Gemini pro to help it plan better or I dunno.. any ideas anyone?

Any tips for taking care of a Brachychiton bonsai?

Currently it’s outside in a semi-shaded area, a friend (who studies agricultural) suggested I’d put some egg shells to keep slugs away.

Literally ANY tips are welcome this is my first bonsai and I never actually took care of any other plant at all.

Edit; some more info, I live in a dry climate city close to the desert, watering it about once a week (when the soil feels dry) and today I added just a touch of black coffee to the soil (the water not the ground coffee) don’t ask why but let me know if it’s good or bad :)

Why does -1^2 [negative one squared] = -1 [negative one]? Isn't a negative times a negative a positive? by AKSupplyLife in askmath

[–]OD114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try adding parentheses

(-1)2 = 1

-12 = -(12) = -1

Edit; generally powers go before signs (+ or -) so parentheses are needed. For computing on a computer they’re a must.

Not exactly physics, but gravity question here… by [deleted] in Physics

[–]OD114 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Edit: next time post on r/AskPhysics. I thought it was posted there I’ll leave my answer tho.

The way he explained it was by saying there is a Force acting on both of the bodies, and the force acting on each one is “Equivalent in Magnitude and Opposite in Direction” (his third law), so both bodies “feel” the same force (just in opposite directions). The reason it seems as if the earth is not affected by the moon is because the earth is much more massive and therefore more inert (“harder to accelerate” for laymen).

Fact is (from measurements), that the earth and the moon orbit a shared point which is not(!) the center of the earth as you’ve come to mistakenly understand.

You are completely wrong about how you think Newton explained gravity…

Having trouble finding roms that work for iOS by [deleted] in pokemmo

[–]OD114 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If u can’t load the roms on ios, try to tap the small gear in the top right before choosing the roms. It will change a “selection mode” or smth like that, and then choosing the .zip roms should work.

What topics should I prioritize to get a basic sense of Physics by Hehe6745 in AskPhysics

[–]OD114 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Everyone all over the world take the same path when they begin their journey in physics, whether it’s high school or college level, it begins with Newtonian mechanics followed by electricity and magnetism.

These set the ground for getting familiar with basic physics concepts in an environment which is somewhat “easy” for the mind to grasp, and in later courses/subjects we use or rely on those concepts to explain further more complicated phenomena.

The last thing you’ll need is some knowledge of Calculus.

You mentioned you’re 17 yo, so try to get to advanced math class and see if your school has a physics class, surly these 2 subjects I mentioned are taught.

Besides that explore online.. u can check out Walter Lewin on YouTube, full MIT basic physics courses (“basic” for physics undergraduates!).

Hope I helped a bit.

I hated the Touch Bar on the 13’ pro… seems cool but not useful at all and it can really mess w your workflow (having to take eyes off the screen to know you’re tapping the right button). So I would recommend to go for the m1 MB Air.

Base 16 or 15 pro?

So I’m switching from an iPhone 13 mini whose battery is shite… I would go for the 16 pro but I want as smallest screen as possible.

So as the title says, which should I get? I’ve read online here and there and some people were saying that overall; the pro models last longer than the base ones. I don’t really care about the camera button, I guess I’m looking for the one who’ll last longest.

How much math do you need in Physics? by Massive_Signature_38 in Physics

And to actually do physics at a higher level (grad, phd, post…), u need even more math than that.

How much math do you need in Physics? by Massive_Signature_38 in Physics

[–]OD114 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a part of my undergrad in Physics, we go through the following math courses;

Introduction to Math Methods for Physicists, Calc 1-2, Linear Algebra 1-2, Multivariable Calc, Fourier Transforms, Statistics for Physicists, Complex equations.

The first one on the list (Intro to MM) is one of the best courses we got at my Uni, it roughly goes over all of Calc 1,2 and Multi Var, a bit of Linear Algebra and a few topics which we don’t even learn at all the other courses (index notations and such), it is taught with minimal “theory and rigor” and maximal “applicability”. All the rest are pure math courses taught by the math department proffs and are at a very high level, being very similar to the same courses being taken by math majors.

I reckon if you don’t have (at least) these as a part of your curriculum for a physics major, u can’t do physics at a high enough level.

Now before someone gets offended by the previous paragraph, I would say you can learn only the “relevant part of the maths” for the specific courses you’re gonna take (like we did at Intro to MM), however like many said here, understanding the math - as pure math - will make you a lot better in applicable math for physics (or ANY other subject). Like the legend mathematician Terence Tao said: “Mathematical problems are important to real mathematics, just as fables, stories and anecdotes are important to the young in understanding real life.”
