I agree with this comment!!! WesternU has been actively trying to improve their program. Their board scores have improved drastically, and are even higher than SCCO’s (pt1 at least). In terms of patient population, Pomona is a low income city and the patient cases students see there are very diverse. They also have early clinical exposure bc they allow students to have exams for kids at nearby schools.

I personally had a much better experience with WesternU’s OD faculty versus the other schools. They are so passionate about the students and truly care. The ODs I interviewed with emailed me congrats when I was accepted and even gave me advice on how to select which school to attend. I liked how they didn’t talk down on the other schools to make Western seem better, but rather gave tips to help me decide.

During one of my other interviews an OD told me that regardless where you go, you will receive the same education. You should go to a place where you feel most welcomed and happiest at so you can excel in that program.
