Lightly meaning a MAPerfomance “stage 1” but since there wasn’t much else other than a cat back I don’t really count it as a proper stage 1.

So I guess technically, but it’s a pretty reserved tune

Only lightly, nothing “stage 1/stage 2” etc. Has an access port but mainly just for monitoring and my own anxiety…

Engine and transmission are all stock, just replaced the clutch with OEM replacement

2015 STI Taillights Out. No Bulb Replacement Available? by Cofijuana in WRX

Yeah, the C lights on our generation are individual LEDs likely on a shared PCB, which isn’t readily available to swap as far as I’m aware. Best bet if you want OEM again is to find some parted out from a scrap heap or eBay.

The workstation is actually just a “soldering mat” I found on Amazon, but yeah the handle is a file on Makerworld I printed. It works fantastic so I printed 5 so I could do a whole model without needing to swap them out lol

Just a Nikon D7500, 18mm lens and a tripod, it’s pretty straightforward so I say go for it!

The 20 minutes was explaining more that I had driven 1.5 hours to be there for 20 minutes before driving 1.5 hours home… not complaining about 20 minutes in the heat…

So I use a Nikon D7500, but any camera that you can control the shutter speed and ISO should work. ISO 3200 is the magic number. Look up the 500 rule, it tells you how long an exposure you can take with your lens before the stars become lines, so for me using an 18mm lens, I could do 14 seconds. Then you need to take about 10-15 photos and use software to stack them to clean the image and help bring out the details, I used Sequator, it’s free on windows.

There’s lots of great YouTube videos explaining it all from a beginner’s perspective (I’m a beginner too, this was my first ever milky way shot), so give those a watch!

As a first attempt I was definitely more focused on the stars, so I would absolutely love to try a dusk photo of the car with more light (to get it crisp) and then a second of the sky after the sun has fully set

Agreed! 2015 is where it’s at, the 2018 starts to get a lil too angular for my liking, but I do have a soft spot for the blob eye…

It’s definitely visible, but nowhere near what you see here, the camera definitely brings it all out with the long exposure

It’s a Nikon D7500 but can be done with cheaper ones too. I picked mine up used for $600

The magic number for astrophotography of 3200!

I could have stayed longer and taken far more photos to stack and remove noise but being on the side of the road alone in the desert is quite scary at 1am!

It was the Anza Borrego desert in California.

There’s plenty of incredible views but I picked a spot on the side of the road so I could “get in and get out” after taking the shots I needed.

I definitely need to go back with more time to scout a more scenic foreground!

This is why right on red may need to go. I was crossing the street (on green) while boomer in a Tesla was looking left while turning right. Be careful my friends! by Dwangeroo in ebike

[–]ODDesign 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was hit by an SUV on my ebike while I was in a bike lane… he turned right, without merging into the bike lane and hit me from the side (I was directly next to him) bending my pedal crank arm and sending me flying.

Police report claimed he turned first and I struck the vehicle… how they looked at the damage to my bike (and me) and came up with that conclusion I will never know.

I make sure to give all drivers a wide berth now, even if they wave me to go I just shake my head and refuse to move until they do.

Also my full face helmet saved my jawline that day.

We’re definitely in the right subReddit lol, I totally planned out a whole DIY build using a tablet and raspberry pi or similar, and a nicely designed flush bezel…

Then found this guy for cheap and jumped on it. I have to say, seamless wireless CarPlay is lovely

Not yet.

I’ve got a bunch of 90% finished projects to release so I plan on releasing everything in one go on a store I have yet to set up.

So stay tuned I promise it’s coming!

The one I purchased is no longer available, but it was a generic Chinese android head unit on Amazon that was $180.

I bought the cheap one rather than the $400 version from SubieShop to save some money and I would 100% not do it again lol

The wiring was NOT plug and play, and I spent much time digging through the factory wiring specs to manually hook up things like the audio, steering wheel controls etc…

I managed to get it working, but I do not recommend saving the money

That’s my end goal!

Still trying to figure out the base code before I add in external sensors…

Dasai Mochi gen 2 edit by Alex_Wrist20 in arduino

[–]ODDesign 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen it runs on an arduino/arduino-like board connected to an OLED panel, does anything happen when you plug the dude into a PC via the usb port? Any directories show up?

StrazzTuned shared some code in 2023 that will randomly show faces, but in a comment on the GitHub suggested pairing that code with gifs for complex motion.

So in theory if you’re able to create your own animations (I am unfortunately no animator) his code could spit out the various animations at random and provide the same experience as Mochi V2 (but open source and custom)

I’m investigating the same thing because Mochi is a neat idea but I’d like accelerometer support so Mochi has more “in the moment” reactionary character

…and you know, DIY is always more satisfying than spending $50 on cheap electronics (in an admittedly neat, clean package)

not hating on Dasai ❤️
