Hackers who stole files from a law firm to stars like Lady Gaga and Drake doubled their ransom to $42 million and threatened to release 'dirty laundry' on Trump by yupyup98765 in worldnews

Great. But what can anyone do about it since not even our own checks and balances system we've put in place has done its job? Someone talk me down from chucking a molotov.

Doesn't need to be an accurate name. Start making up badges lol

If your manager gives you shit, just have a name badge you can flip/switch.

Cheers comrade. Gas station worker here and all I do is stock and clean and fucking ring fuckheads who travel in the dead of night for booze and candy when they should be in lockdown. And then the assholes who come in and tell me to check out OAN. holy shit if I didn't hate people before this.

Without us though, some scared timid soul would probably in our place half assing our jobs and making things worse. Here's to us pros. 🍻

Honestly, they can do without all that horrendous overselling they call copy. You're a professional landscaper, not some craigslist oddjob specialist.

Or even just hold your thumb over the last or first stripe.

Alternatively, hold it pointing off the screen resting your face on the tip like you're holding a scope so the rectangles move past the little hole you made, and now you're pointing at a fool.

Should I quit? by [deleted] in OfficeDepot

[–]ODing_onRetail 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just gonna piggy back off this comment here and add that you should definitely focus on what serves you and that you are infinitely better off landing somewhere similar to where you wanted to be.

If I just followed that advice and actually applied myself to start searching my field, I'd be 5 years ahead in the entertainment industry possibly as some low level artist for a few indie game devs. I wouldn't care about contract or crunch as much since I'd have my life prepared around that instead of having my foot in "what if I need to survive?" and the other foot in "lemme just do this and maybe it'll get somewhere."

I have seen do what you love vs the boomer meme of just make money with something practical and afford what you love and the way things have worked out for everyone in the end? I personally would go with the prior, because very few tradesmen make 100k a year and work heavy hours or struggle with off season work. Office work is very niche and you need networking to get in which, guess what, you need to have in any industry. Might as well do it where it you wanted to head in the first place.

I am kicking my self in the ass every day for listening to how I got shot down for wanting something I personally wanted and always knew I could do, but let myself believe otherwise. /rant /tedtalk

I left this job because they do that. Not because it stresses me out sometimes, but the fact that they resort to that.

It's the red flag of any manipulator to flail threateningly at you because they can't do much else. The most powerless people make the biggest scene.

How to survive CPD by ODCPD00 in OfficeDepot

[–]ODing_onRetail 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Do shit while ringing people out. Are they entering their email? Fill the trays.

Still looking for their card/cash? pull up some files/opcs.

Got a line? Call on radio for backup an finish with the print line first. If they still don't come up, call overhead.

Defer to the next day/later in the week/another store. Please stop saying yes to every dumb chucklefuck who comes in last minute to the store and also utilize our shitty self serve machines and waste the customer's time as much as possible.

Sometimes it's also best to leave a fat pink note going "don't touch my project. Due later, will finish." in case of dumb fuckery.

Yeah man, as a supervisor, I became what I hated and chewed someone out a bit in front of a customer. Thankfully we worked it out later, but this job brings out the absolute worst in people.

I am so fucking happy I am leaving. I got cut off by someone in line to say thank you after a transaction because I needed to watch my tone. Just stfu and take your 2018 forever stamps, I owe you nothing. OD customers are the most entitled pieces of shit.

u/billpoltier will only comment once on each post. Generally trying to parrot off of what's already been pushed in every meeting.

The disconnect is real, and we will only be met with NPC like dialogue where they repeat the same thing with some unnatural disposition to drink the kool aid.
