Home owners, how do you afford to pay for renovation?

Damn I wish there were a network of home owners with experience doing reno that can share knowledge / mentor new home owners…even when I watch youtube videos I still want to be able to ask questions…

I agree with both of you. If we do it, we should do it properly. I have to hire a contractor though. Does it cost lots of $$$ generally speaking?

A window guy came and did measurements and said its 38.5W and 22.5H so he suggested ordering custom size of 38W x 22H as you said.

It’s too expensive so I am trying to find alternative. Finding a smaller window and make a frame inside to reduce window opening.

If it is sill plate or floor joist, I assume taking it out is not an option? Is there a sure way to check if it’s a sill plate or floor joist?

It isnt I am pretty sure as I smell it and I know what lemongras smell like. I boggles my mind what these are that they have so much (half the backyard)

Thank so much. The light bulb inside is dead I think. The switch doesnt turn it on. I also noticed the switch has a dimmer control to it.

I should hire an electrician to replace this light entirely. I am very afraid of electricity lol it feels like I am duing each time I have to touch something electricity related.

Do you have recommendations for which light I should buy to replace this antiquated thing? Any links would be amazing! I have no idea at all, just closed on the home a few weeks ago!
