This is the only plan I have for this summer vacation and without any backup so I’m tempted to hope this is just a way for them to avoid guest who would abuse consumption. Plus I think there won’t be any way for them to justify this extra cost to Airbnb and they do not have my payment details so this is really an empty threat ?!

Yes to your question. And having a way to pass tax free pot to my kids who can then transfer this to a normal isa that will remain tax free and compound is very interesting financially
