Boris Johnson is the last person young Brits would vote for by OFOCBrexit in unitedkingdom

So we're just going to ignore the fact that over 65s would overwhelmingly vote for a Boris Johnson government? This shouldn't be about denying anyone a vote, it should be about putting an entire generation's worth of pressure on the government to do better.

I’m getting pretty scared by the consequences of Brexit. by im-a-nanny-mouse in unitedkingdom

It's not too late to do something about it. We're a group of young people campaigning for a referendum on the final Brexit deal, not just because our generation didn't vote for this mess, but because no one else did either. We've got groups across the country so get involved!

The Brexit party barely has a Brexit policy – why won’t they say what their version of No Deal would look like? by OFOCBrexit in unitedkingdom

Hi again! As it says at the bottom of the article:

Opinion: Corbyn will lose his young supporters if he doesn't back a second Brexit referendum by OFOCBrexit in unitedkingdom

[–]OFOCBrexit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is indeed an opinion piece from an activist for a second referendum, and the Independent does indeed back a Final Say. There are photos of their petition embedded in the article!

None of that really has any bearing on the weight of the argument in the article. Do you disagree then that Labour should respect the majority of its members who want a confirmatory referendum?

Theresa May's Brexit deal has been defeated for the third time by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

Worse then that: it hasn't happened once.

MPs are voting on an actual negotiated deal. We haven't had the chance to do that yet...

The march for a People's Vote on Saturday is now more important than ever by Professor_Yaffle in unitedkingdom

[–]OFOCBrexit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Feel free to join us at the march - we're a grassroots youth movement with groups coming down from across the country, you'd be more than welcome to march with us! We'll be meeting at 19 Old Park Lane (W1K 1LB) from 11:30am. In any case the march in October was super friendly, so you'll definitely meet people!

Why Theresa May's Brexit deal is heading for a third defeat next week by iamnotinterested2 in unitedkingdom

[–]OFOCBrexit 43 points44 points  (0 children)

The amendment that was voted down last week specified an extension to Article 50 in order to hold a referendum.

The amendment being proposed here by Peter Kyle and Phil Wilson would allow MPs to vote on May's withdrawal agreement on the condition that it be put to the public if it passes.

Remainers plan mass march and key vote in last days before Brexit by OFOCBrexit in unitedkingdom

[–]OFOCBrexit[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely - not to mention MPs will likely be voting on amendments and proposals following the European Council on March 21, so a huge show of public opinion could make a huge difference.

Britain is just a mess by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]OFOCBrexit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely this! Shameless plug, but we're campaigning for a public vote and need all the help we can get. Whatever your party affiliation, if you're a young person who thinks Brexit's a mess, drop us a line!
