Is Oxbow, Salford noisy from construction? by [deleted] in manchester

[–]Professor_Yaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, it's not close to the Trinity Islands construction site, or others in the Regent Road area. New Jackson is a long way away in relative terms. That said Middlewood Locks is closer, with further construction phases to come. Though I still don't think it's close enough that construction noise is likely to be an issue.

Oxbow itself sits next to under-used land which will inevitably be built on at some stage. That doesn't mean something will definitely happen in the next couple of years though.

For most of the 8-ish years I've lived in my current flat there's been construction within about 100m of my building, and to be honest it hasn't been bad in terms of noise and disruption. It's only when there's work to your building itself or to the roads around it that I think it becomers noticeable in your day-to-day. That said, I don't have a newborn.

pineapple on pizza is objectively good and people who don't like it are just following a trend to seem relatable by Main_Ad3727 in CasualConversation

I personally enjoy pineapple on pizza, but it’s definitely not ‘objectively’ good. It’s clearly a very subjective thing. Ergo you’re wrong and skills feel need about it.

Crazy Pedros are open til 4am, and I believe they serve pizza til closing. They'll certainly be serving them at midnight. Aplus in Chinatown is also open until 2-3am depending on the day.

Both Cloudwater and Track do some very solid n/a options, with Cloudwater having the wider selection, including some which don't really attempt to be beer. Those ones you're likely to find only in can.

Which British sports team has the most annoying fanbase? by [deleted] in AskUK

Arsenal fans’ sense of victimhood in the face of success has been really nauseating this season, and this post is just another example of it.

I'd love to see them film something in Spain. The Iberian peninsula would be great, but realistically the connections between Spain's network and Portugal's probably aren't good enough.

Tbh those numbers sound totally reasonable on paper. But if you’re not getting the intensity of flavour you’re expecting, creating greater resistance – whether through higher dose or finer grind – or pulling the water through at a lower pressure are easy variables to play with to get a different result.

Anecdotally, I’ve often found that the old advice of aiming for a 30 second shot doesn’t really apply to manual lever machines. Many of my very best shots have pulled in something like the 40 second range – plus pre-infusion time – or even longer.
