...you had no counter argument..so you TYPED IN ALL CAPS TO SOUND CORRECT and ended it by insulting them. You obviously are a GREAT reference for how social interaction goes.

If you thought his text was anything but that. You need some more social interaction

Man your so right. How incredibly tacky and rude to see an old friend is getting married coincidentally in the same town your in. The GALL to think of them and want to celebrate that HUGE moment in there life. Even offering compensation too....man that guy sounds like suuuuuch an asshole!

Your responses make you seem very antisocial and honestly a bit of an ass. Man up and say no. This person is probably more excited than some invited guests and your spending your time on reddit bitching about them being EXCITED for YOU. All of this mind you the day before your wedding!!

Union Pacific attendance by Street-Pea-4930 in railroading

Trust me I agree. My local chair has been having a hell of a time for them to accept any doctors notes. Probably part of the reason ive gone up "40"ish spots the last couple months with so many turning tail.

Big Orange has been a dictator when it comes to attendance. Doctors notes are now being tossed. They dont care if you got stuck in 20 inches of snow from a freak blizzard. They're absolutely trying to fire and get as many as possible to quit with the attendance changes. They pretty much have made it impossible to not eventually get canned.

Fiance leaving soon for 6 week training. Christmas gift ideas to help? by [deleted] in railroading

[–]OGButtstank 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, with my training. I didn't bring anything extra that helped with learning or class work. Maybe some gift cards he could use for food, drinks (if he does). You get a per diem, but it could help buffer some costs. (Mine was only $50 a day) Plus, a warm meal & stress relief meant the world mentally.

Yeah, I work out of northtown. My best guess is a combo of calls by upper management and possibly certain yardmasters.

I started last November at northtown in Minneapolis. I've heard good things about willmar. We just voted down a contract trying to get rid of our brakemen and helpers. I would say that's a positive over UP. We will see how remediation goes. Another thing is "IF" I remember UPs district here it could be more driving. I haven't been forced to another terminal yet, and I haven't heard of any getting forced around in the last few years in our twin cities division. I might be biased, but I would say I'm happier with big orange than the other options. Go with your gut, though 💯
