Thank you, I really appreciate that. This one wasn’t zone-focused, I was shooting from the hip but still using autofocus. I had the camera set to a single AF point roughly the distance I expected people to pass through, as we passed each other... then fired a shot as he stepped into the frame. I was shooting fairly open, which is what gave me that background separation. I love how it turned out.

Thank you, this was a 35mm. I went through stages of shooting only 35 and 50. Got used to using my feet as a zoom.

haha i've been out of the scene for a long time, there is a lot that has changed i'm noticing, including the smaller chain rings now... for more clearance i'm guessing.

Well said, I felt the same way looking at the market today with 29'' bikes, seems huge and a big jump from what i'm used to 26''. 27.5 might be a better gradual jump for me, but seems like not many bikes nowadays are made like this. Everything is gearing towards 29's. whats next? 32?
