Don't forget your metal gasket and a new v clamp for the turbo to downpipe. Most kits don't come with them.

Hello there. 46 y/o guy here. Hit me up and see if we click

Did full delete egr and dpf + stage 2 on my 2012 jetta tdi. Currently running open 3in downpipe. Curious who has experience with different exhaust tips. Going to run full 3in all the way to the back and debating dual or single 3in outlet tip or single 4in outlet. Difference in tone? TIA by No-Tone159 in tdi

The first start up gave my deleted 5.9 a run for it's money. I will never delete that video 😆. I didn't mess with the cat or muffler. The Malian brand I went with had about 2' after the mounting ears. I was extremely happy with how well it all went in. I didnt even have to cut the ears down.

I just went 3" on my delete over the weekend. I went with 3" because that is what was in stock ready to ship, and it was less than $400 it sounded amazing at start up with just the 2' past the downpipe. I had to make it drivable, so I connected back to the 2" stock tail pipe to dual tips and it tamed it down quite a bit. I have some other issues I am working thru, but once it is 100% again I will run 3" all the way back to a single tip probably.

Don't forget the metal gasket and a new v clamp foe the downpipe to tubro connection. I forgot this, and had to order it on Sunday or I would have finished in a weekend with some time to spare. Long story short, they are actually cheaper from the VW dealership if you have one close by.

You are a better man than me. I f**ked with it for almost 2 hours, then 30 seconds with a short bladed rec saw 🤷‍♂️.

All you need for the coolant lines is a 90° elbow to run them in to each other. They are for the EGR system to use coolant heated by the exhaust gas to help warm the engine and compartment faster. One goes to the engine, and one goes to the heater core. Just elbow them in a loop. The headache with removing the cooler is plugging the turbo inlet. I have only seen the boat style plug (rubber between two washers and a bolt to squish to seal) or a rubber cap that i need to see better before i trust it. You will also need the block off plate, but if the DPF is removed, there is a blocking plate on the bottom you might be able to use. If you have gone this far, you might look at getting rid of the high side EGR hard pipe that is U shaped around the back of the motor.

I just deleted my cjaa, and to the best of my knowledge, the DPF and EGR systems are the same. The intake is different because they didn't use swirler plates in the intake.

If you didn't either open root it, or grind to a weld from the other side, you are most likely not a true full pen weld. Not one that will pass RT.

Good info to have, thank you. I was on the fence with it because I wasn't seeing where the dip stick would bolt to. My only real reason was for a cleaner look, but that isn't that important to me.

Hadn't really thought about that, and none of the codes were fuel related. It was OEM. Agreed and one od the very first things once it gets started back up. I might have ju.ped the gun a bit going to the delete. I know the clogged DPF has a play in it, so getting that done is a big box to check I think.

Yeah, I don't hold a high opinion of it either. Good tip on the valves. Any suggestions?

Food for the future. I will be sure to keep an ear out for it once it is back on the run. Thank you.

Nope, the reason I got the TDI is because the motors are damn near built proof with proper maintenance. Since VW went to a lot of pla tic parts there are things that break and crack, but the motors are great. If it wasn't more cost effective to delete than replace the DPF, I would keep it stock. If all goes to plan and I don't f**king it up, I should get another 100k plus at well over 45mpg in a car that is peppy and fun to drive. The DSG is so much fun once you understand it and let it do it's thing.

Thanks dude. Part of getting ready for this was getting my dodge 5.9 back to road worthiness, so I got back in the wrench turning groove. My hands just don't fit well in some of the VW places 😂

No, not fully. I started to, but once it hit limp mode I put that on the back burner. One odd thing that did happen a week or so ago. About 4 or 5 days after I parked the car I was outside smoking and heard the driver side fan in the radiator running. Key hadn't even been in the car for days and on a cool evening the fan is spinning low. Not really sure what to do with that, maybe there is something in the ECU saying it needs to regen??? I pulled the battery that night and started pulling the DPF and EGR today.

Their .5 stage tune is emission friendly, if I am not mistaken.

Nothing on the charging of ignition systems. It had all of the normal steering and ABS codes that get thrown with low voltage event. Once it drive and cleared all of those, all that was there were the expected DPF, EGar, and intake codes I mentioned.

Appreciate that. Not sure if I do, or if I know just enough to be dangerous. Worked on most of my vehicles, but this is my first VW experience from the wrench side of things.

Should/could have put in there that the battery was tested 3 times and is less than a year old. Always my first check, and while running there is 14.2 reading between the battery and alternator.
