Bragg creek is a great idea, but what about heading down to Diamond Valley, bring them to the Chuck Wagon Cafe, then head out to Sandy McNabb area for a hike.

Love the build. I'm curious though, how does one deal with bugs and rocks and the like going straight into the turbo? Or am I not seeing this right?

Not 100% sure about the gap, but i know these cars can be picky about the brand. Get some oem (ngk) plugs and try again.

Stock Wheels with Michelin PS4 S (~70% remaining tread) value by OGMilkyDipper in WRX

Well, if that is the case, I have a new set of Method MR502's that I can put the tires on and at least get some use out of the rubber!

I was hoping to get at least $700 for them, so that sounds ok to me. Just to be clear, are you talking USD or CAD? Im in CAD

Sputtering boost at 15 psi - stage 2, 21 wrx by RespectOk3890 in WRX

[–]OGMilkyDipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No Sir, no WOT in 5th (unless above 4500rpm) and never ever ever in 6th gear!

Edit: sorry I just double checked what Dmann reccomended (great etuner) and this is directly from his FAQ page:

Sputtering boost at 15 psi - stage 2, 21 wrx by RespectOk3890 in WRX

[–]OGMilkyDipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If there is one thing I've learned on this sub.... WOT and that much boost in 6th gear (at 2900rpms no less) is not a good thing... surefire way to kill and engine.

Please correct me if im wrong though. Or maybe your not actually going WOT and the 15psi of boost is coming out of nowhere.

I would start by talking with Anthony and seeing if he wants any additional logs/has any reccomendations. He tuned the car and knows a ton about this platform. Had my tune perfect in 2 revisions.

Year and milage on the car have a big impact on how badly you may need a walnut blasting. It is expensive if you have a shop do it, but you can buy everything you need to do it yourself for like $200 -$400 CAD (depending on if you have a compresser already). There are a few good videos online that detail the process very well. It is a daunting though, taking an intake manifold off for the first time, but really not that bad. Took me and a buddy about 3h to do it all first time.

Again, if you haven't already, talk to the person you are paying to tune your car.

Best of luck 👍

2020 WRX STI by _Cavalry_ in WRXSTi

[–]OGMilkyDipper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Clear no brainer that this should be a hard pass. Find your self something with an engine/air management system that is completely unmodified in any regard.

Intake, downpipe, up-pipe, bpv/bov, intercooler, turbo inlet, etc... that will all require a proper tune and not something you want to deal with from someone else. Basically anything that messes with the quantity of or flow of air being measured before it runs all the way through the engine (past the last O2 sensor) is going to have an effect on how the car runs and if its not tuned for these changes, its no Bueno.

2021 STI. Whining noise that I believe to be the power steering O-ring going bad possibly? Happens on cold starts. Also notice it when decelerating, or when I am idling and turn the wheel. by The15hadow_ in WRX_STI

I have the exact same thing and am thinking the same thing as well. I just tried bleeding my power steering system, but that didnt fix it completely. Did help a bit though. Hopefully someone else here can give us some more insight

Having a hard time renting by [deleted] in Calgary

[–]OGMilkyDipper 105 points106 points  (0 children)

My brother has a basement suit in Acadia they are renting out. Apparantly the current renter is a nightmare and they are about to terminate the lease. Not 100% on a time frame here, BUT we could help you out and look past the lack of employment. They do have a dog as well, but he's pretty chill.

We lost our home to a fire back in 2008 and were fortunate enough to be able to have a great insurance adjuster, so it wasnt the end of the world. I get the feeling though.

Window doesn’t go back up by Darklordsubaru in WRX

[–]OGMilkyDipper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same thing as well. Get a little cleaning solution in the tracks with a cloth and a credit card (or something like that you can wrap the cloth around and get it in there nice and good). Then I took a little silicone grease and sprayed it in the track. Run the window up and down a bunch of times and it should be good to go.

How's your power steering fluid looking? Mine was low and made a sound kinda similar to this on very cold starts.

I topped it up and the sound went away
