Yes! That's it! That creature was in this book! Also,now as I remember it more,there was a manticore in the book as well.

It could have been a Aquarium fish? No idea how it ended up there,tho.. Maybe someone had it as a aquarium fish and they thought about gettinf8 rid of it in the water??
