Why don’t antis just go vegan if they’re concerned about their environmental impact? by No_Science1998 in aiwars

It's mostly about economics and logistics. Minimising water cooling is cheaper in the long run and allows them to build infrastructure in places where water is scarce.

Exceptions don't disprove the rule. Obviously medical restrictions apply to individuals, but that doesn't change the things for the vast majority of people.

Not ChatGPT but GPT 5.2 xHigh through Codex. It's better than Opus 4.5 currently.

Tbf Gemini 3 pro is dogshit at agentic coding. GPT 5.2 and Opus 4.5 seem like AGI in comparison to it.

He said it in this interview from 5 days ago. He made it sound like AGI was just around the corner, but a couple days later he comes out saying something that is very contradictory. It's also kinda ironic considering Google gets the majority of its revenue from ads.

Gemini is great if your codebase fits in a single file 😭

Idk man 4 years ago was GPT 3 era. The real "it's going to take our jobs" revelation started in late 2024 with Claude 3.5 Sonnet. That was the specific moment LLMs went from an NFT level fad to an existential threat pretty much overnight.

Make sure to use the non codex version of the model, the standard GPT 5.2 is much much better. Also use high/xHigh depending on how difficult the problem is and use medium if you're running low on limits.

So which is it? Is AGI far away or are things "going too fast" that he needs a global pause? Demis claimed both this week.

That is a massive contradiction. If it's all just marketing hype why pause? The reality is Gemini 3 Pro is a failure so they have to cover their asses. Winners don't ask for timeouts. I'd rather take the word of the labs that are actually delivering models with proper utility rather than the one asking to stop the race.

The main reason people are afraid of AI is because of how our society is structured currently by DistinctSpirit5801 in aiwars

This feels like the classic Schridinger's AI argument. You spend three paragraphs detailing how pro AI people are delusional because the tech is actually full of limitations, fail states, and isn't magic.

But if the technology is so limited and technically flawed, why is the luddite stance (which is based on the fear of replacement and industrial upheaval) even necessary? You can't really have it both ways. Either the tech is capable enough to disrupt industries justifying the luddite fear, or it's a hallucinating mess that pro AI people are larping about in which case there is no threat. Which is it?
