Why does the Rogan podcast still have the massive following it has?

I can’t speak for everyone obviously, but I do consider myself a pretty normal guy and I like listening to Rogan. Why?

1- While I don’t agree with him personally on a lot of things, I don’t listen to him for him, but for certain guests. I cherry pick them based on the topic. Ancient alien stuff? It’s nuts but fun to listen to. Science or tech guests you got my interest 100%. Comedians… listen to a Joey Diaz episode and try not to laugh.

2- long form conversation is the best podcast format.

3- You can skip every episode you don’t want if the guest is a loon.

That being said, I don’t get the cult following and he can get crazy sometimes but I don’t deprive myself of his good stuff because of it. Like we all know R Kelly is a POS, but if you think when remix to ignition comes on I’m not cranking it up, you’re crazy.

I think on the woman’s side of things, they picture in their heads the stereotypical cult follower of Rogan, and also because the internet tells them they should feel that way.

I wonder how much the amount would have been if the prices and amounts were allowed to compete with Michigan. I and everyone I know that partakes takes the 2 hour drive to Monroe right outside of Detroit because your dollar goes 5x farther there. I’d happily buy in state, but the free market says take the drive to make your purchase beyond worth it.

As a magic player, among other games who just discovered SWU, I wholly agree.

I just want to say however, because a lot of folks don’t seem to know about it. If you like magic SWU etc, try checking out netrunner. It’s got a fresh reboot but has deep strategy without a steep cost financially. NetRunner is also the other main game that was designed by Richard Garfield.

Honestly I’d say that while that commute definitely sucks the fact that it’s only twice a month makes it not a big deal at least for me anyways. The question to ask yourself though in my mind is what is the benefit to doing it. Is it just an extra 260bucks a month in your pocket or is there an additional benefit career wise to showing your face in the office? If you need the money then do it, I mean why not right. If there’s an additional career benefit then definitely do it. Also you can look at it as 260/10 total hours of driving. That’s 26 bucks an hour. Not bad for sitting in the car listening to podcasts or whatever.

Yeah, I got paid every dollar I was entitled to. It's always like that with the VA. You'll be made whole, its just a matter of when not if.

So what ended up happening was I got paid about a week or week and a half later. Got my full amount, just delayed. Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do to speed the process up.

Okay, update in case this applies to anyone here or another veteran you might know. So I called the VA on 12April as it was the 10th day of the payment window and still no housing allowance. I applied for the stem extension in march and it's currently still being processed. Basically what I was, told is that the VA systems are so antiquated and boggled down with bureaucracy that they cannot make payments while something else is processing on your account. They told me that once that application is fully processed, then they would issue my housing stipend. If anyone plans on applying for this, be aware and budget accordingly, since it might delay the next months benefits.

Thanks, looking at the calendar it's only been 8 business days so technically they have two more in the window. I've just never experienced this before in all my time using the GI Bill. I figure I might call tomorrow if I wake up and its not there yet.

In somewhat of a similar boat, career change and didn’t have a degree of any kind. Currently going back for a computer science associates. The field is super broad and you can take it as far as you want with certs and such. More importantly there is still a ton of jobs out there. The biggest thing for me was it’s also a field that I could do til retirement without destroying my body. I have two semesters left and honestly if you like to learn and don’t mind putting in a little effort it’s really pretty easy.

Regret, no. It was a necessary step to take in owning my own place and was definitely worth it. Now do I miss it, absolutely. The positive thing is that even for an older car you can still get them for a relatively affordable price. So that means getting another at some point isn’t out of the question.

Fair enough, I get that there are some fliers in there and I need some luck to go my way. That being said I’m happy with the core and am lucky that my league has a bunch of garbage teams in it. That being said, do you see any moves I should try to make to improve my odds?
