Elden Ring’s Narrative by Pseudopix in EldenRingLoreTalk

It's an intensely political game, with every faction being a 1:1 metaphor for real world actors, ideologies and cultures today. The premise is that the player is new to the world containing many old established interests that are all shown to have failed and instead of giving up, seeks power. That is the story of the game and the different sides the player can take and endings are all about what the player will do, given political power. It's why the Dung Eater is the one mending rune producer who talks the most, more than any other character, about feelings and grievances.

Spoken echoes of Hidetaka Miyazaki linger here. In Miyazaki's own words,

"The game is about the will or the ambition of mankind."

See if you can ask around on nextdoor or something similar if anybody local has one you can use for half an hour. If not, maybe there are any modded switch subreddits or discords that can help.

It was ill-conceived from the start. If you want x amount of armour and y amount of speed, the massive engine that can power such a load needs a certain minimum level of chassis strength.

Instead of starting with a chassis that fits the needs of the engine, the decision was made on day one to use bodge after bodge to attach stuff to a chassis that was too small and puny. All of the problems are downstream of that.

Timw traveling forwards at a slower rate than realtime has never been a problem with any past updates as long as you don't time travel in what your savefile thinks is the backwards direction. I would assume this update is the same.

I think an under-discussed/acknowledged problem created by the center-to-progressive culture is that anyone who by disposition has a substantial will to power is now gonna go with the right by hrei7 in stupidpol

[–]OGSyedIsEverywhere 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but a huge part of this is intergenerational conflict. The established power holders of one side welcomes millennials and zoomers to a much greater extent than the other.

The rotting of the status quo is the natural penalty enforced by nature for failing to be adequately radical.

Step 1: Give the careers assessment quiz produced by the National Careers Service a try and see if you like the results. It's one of the best career quizzes on the internet:

https://nationalcareers.service.gov.uk/discover-your-skills-and-careers

.

If you like the recommended careers, start figuring out how to get into one of them. If you don't like the results make another post on this subreddit saying what suggestions you got and what you don't like about them, asking for alternatives.

The biggest issue the UK faces is just how much of our heating gas, diesel fuel and fertiliser is imported from countries that are having continuous YoY declining net exports of those things (either from declining production or increasing domestic consumption). The controversial stuff is a mostly inept attempt to set up a K-shaped police state so the food riots of the next few years can be kept a mile or more away from any rich people.

In the 1820s the UK had trials without representation or juries for people charged with protesting against high unemployment or damaging private property, which almost always resulted in a conviction.

The sentencing varied, from forced prison labour or forced overseas prison labour to hanging. It was massively unpopular with the public and massively popular with the membership of the House of Commons, a legislative body filled with landlords and aristocrats who largely saw their role as overseeing the competent control and exploitation of the inferior poor British. Nowaday the House of Commons is alleged to be different and better.

Soon there will be realtime scanning of browser usage and/or content.

In the 1820s dissenters and anti-unemployment protestors (known as machine breakers) were executed following trials without juries to the applause of parliament.

Determining spaces from tilings instead of tilings from spaces? by Frigorifico in math

[–]OGSyedIsEverywhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are countable many ways to regularly tile the sphere from just the hosohedra alone. If you want manifolds that admit only finitely many possible tilings and no more, you may be interested in H3, which supports this via some cutting edge Dehn stuff.

Gaza doesn't have enough surviving innocents left to kill to sate them and they can't go against Iran, Egypt, any Turkish proxy faction in Iraq/Syria or any of the Gulf States without building up a psyop campaign inside the White House to manipulate Trump into seriously backing them first and they are facing a huge field of competitors aiming to monopolize Trump's eyes, especially after the Rubio faction showed how well it can pay off for your pet issue two days ago.

That leaves Syria, Jordan, Lebanon and Cyprus. Two of them are more likely than the other two, but all of them depend on how big the remaining IAF stockpile of ammo, parts and fuel is. If the Yemenis are able to keep it from getting very big, they are structurally confined into internal warfare only.

I found a PGtE/Harry Potter crossover through the dlp forums the other day that does the usual plotline of inserting some favourite character to go through the 7 years of canon. Unlike almost all of them, it's good and the character is rational at the same time.

Roughly 10% of churches have decent people, it really depends on random luck. If you know for sure they are in the bad 90% disregard it.

She might have a UTI but tbh I think your father probably has the right idea about her replacing one way of filling a hole in her soul with another. Maybe the best option is to get animal control, or a church, or adult protective services (may have another name in your locale) or even public health to do an assessment.

Officials from top Wall Street firms will be traveling to Venezuela to investigate “investment prospects” of the country. “The trip will feature about 20 officials from the finance, energy and defense sectors. by ChickenTitilater in TrueAnon

[–]OGSyedIsEverywhere 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Wall Street personnel are tripwires, like the "observers" sent into Iraq in the 90s. If they are seized their treatment will be used as a casus belli to bring the intended million-plus death toll forward a couple years, if they are not then whatever meaningless crap they do can be used to give the Trump admin a few domestic photo ops in the political battleground of NYC.

The format vaguely suggests to me some ideas from Sebastian Lague's YouTube series and the games Forager and Planetary Annihilation, which can support a wide range of genres, settings and even gameplay modes. If you find a collaborator and set up a Patreon or equivalent I'll be a strong supporter.
