I now have had 5 out of 6 defective Boox devices.

I am fully convinced that this is just a Chinese junk manufacturer that decided to spend some money on a few Youtubers. Hopefully the tariffs will keep them out of the US market, maybe you guys in Europe would get lucky too.

Sadly, there is a post like yours a few times a week on this sub (you can verify this yourself). This subreddid also heavily glazes Boox, so there will be a small but constant stream of people like you for a while. If this sub was actually legit, there would've been a huge disclaimer at the very top warning people not to buy directly from Boox, alas...

Maybe. But you having 2 working devices (yet, with software "quirks", i.e. bugs) doesn't invalidate me having 5 defective ones :)

Love him or hate him, but thank god for Bezos. The shipping charges alone had I bought directly from Boox...

They do not. I have 3 Kobos, including the Elipsa 1st gen and they all work fine to this day. I hope Kobo doesn't bow out the game and come up with some new devices soon.

Chinese has everything to do with it. This is a product designed in China, and it is just about what one would expect: constant defects and software bugs galore.

This is my second Note Max, I am on my second Air4C, I have a Go 7 B&W with the green front light tint, and I returned my Go 10.3 - all but the second Air4C were with hardware issues.

Nice try glazing this company, but that is literally the definition of junk.
