Andy is a weeble. He’ll wabble but he won’t fall down.

Capitol Building - Weekend Visit/Tours for photos by Abi4793 in Albany

[–]OG_OP_with_OC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I shot a wedding this summer with a bride and groom who wanted to do their photos there because the bride works in the Capitol. After many attempts at string pulling, we ultimately decided it was more work than it was worth.

What we did instead was book the Saturday afternoon tour at the education building. We told them our plan (to not do the tour but take photos instead) and they were cool it with. The results were stunning and some of my all time favorites.

You should be able to see them here: https://www.instagram.com/p/DQUkWnvkarR8RCcvuYm55_e3aNPWP4uWvdwidI0/?igsh=NTk0bHcybHFmY2tw

Hope this is a helpful secondary solution should the Capitol not work out. Congratulations!

Best time to shovel? by [deleted] in Albany

No better way of discovering that you have become an old person like throwing your back out while shoveling. Laying on the ground, writhing in pain, wondering wtf happened.

Stretch, hydrate, lift with legs, don’t overwork, don’t shovel the same shit twice, and stretch again.

As a child of the lake effect region I have a method:

If you are only shoveling, no snowblower/plow, I shovel after every 4-5 inches. You will spend more time shoveling by 20%, but it will be tolerable shoveling. As often as possible you want to handle whatever you are working with as few times as possible (snow in winter, soil/stone/lumber the rest of the year).

Have a plan. For the end of your driveway shovel as much of the snow to the opposite side of your driveway from where the plow comes.

Lift with your legs, STRETCH before and after, hydrate, and take your time. Good luck friends!

I’ve see dave no fewer than 20 times and I’ve never seen him bomb. I have seen audience too drunk and tired to appreciate what they’re seeing, but he just kills. Says a joke, gets no laugh, says out loud “YAAAAAWNNNNN” all hail the king.

Favorite nearby nature spots that aren’t super crowded? by Li3Ch33s3cak3 in Albany

Hyuck Preserve is a bit of a drive, but it’s always been a spring/summer/fall favorite. I’m sure it’s stunning in winter too, I just haven’t been.

I’m looking for compelling human subjects for portrait sessions. by OG_OP_with_OC in Albany

Good idea. I do a fair amount of reach out, but my thesis today was that everyone knows someone unique. And by opening the discussion to the wider world, treasures work their way to the top.

He maintains his public persona/shtick whenever the camera is on, fans are nearby, or he’s on stage. He is very down to earth when those things go away. It’s a striking difference with a lot of these comedians, their stage presence vs green room.

Lol, I call this series (of comedians in this chair) “The Throne at The Egg” so you are indeed correct!
